Unless he takes a pay cut to a salary that can be fully buried in the AHL if he gets beat out at training camp by 1 of: Wolanin, Brisebois, Rathbone, Hirose

Hopefully Podkolzin can progress his game in the next few years and be a contributing top 6 winger for us. He fell from his top 3 ranking and we selected him when Boldy was still available. We know how he is doing in Minnesota in comparison to Podkolzin...but I am hoping for a Nichushkin 2.0 in Podkolzin, Canucks management and fans will need to be patient with Podz for that to come to fruition though! Boldy looking like a solid signing long term at 7m if he continues progressing in the direction he is going. Comparing apple to oranges after the draft and the early stages of a young NHLers career...ups and downs, Podz will hopefully figure it all out I give him slack to adjust to NA and learn english etc so I am not worried as of yet!

credit has to be given to whoever brought him up as a player the Canucks should sign. Was it GM Alvin...he had more free time to scout games as an AGM in Pit compared to now so wonder if he is behind it or someone else in the management or scouting department. He has been surprising good, done far more than any of us expected he would and now he is flourishing as a PKer for us too!

good game, Boeser super noticeable! Boner got a nice goal, under 10 min of ice time but hopefully he gain get closer to 15 min a night before seasons over or he is sent back down. My hope is they rest all the injured guys and say no chances, give these other guys the rest of the year but come training camp its an open battle for many of the players...hence the key off season ahead the coach keeps referring to!!

Going to hurt our cap thats for sure...if only we signed Hughes and Petey to 8yr deals prior to July 1 or the draft even when we made the Dickinson trade? With 2.65m Canucks could have had 8yr deals for Petey @8.75m and Hughes 8.5m roughly without doing the numbers HECK we might have got both on 8yr 8m per deals maybe...oh what could have been!! Now Petey this summer coming off a 100pt season has the team by the balls, esepecially if they trade JT before July 1st. EP could ask for 12m and as much as we hate it, seeing him have back to back 100pt seasons possibly would garner him betting on himself but then he could look at being the top paid player in the NHL...ugh I hope not! I would be shocked if EP signs under 10m on a long term deal. His agent likely brings up Pastrnak, both have similar pt totals this year, EP is a C albeit not that good at FaceOffs yet so he plays the more important position. Could easily see the ask coming from his agent being 12m maybe slightly more maybe just under 12m...interesting to see if they try and get this exntension done ASAP so it gives the team a clear picture going forward what his future cap hit will be. A key off season upcoming, if we can move Myers after his SB with no retention to clear 6m that would help. One winger making over 4m is gone, logic says its a RW between Boeser/Garland but I wouldn't rule out the Canucks dangling Beau at the draft to see if they could get an extra late 1st round pick for him? He has fit well, but I mean he plays with EP everyone looks good with him...so do we try to sell high on him if we can to clear his 4.1m? Canucks have LW's in Podkolzin, Hoglander, Kravtsov, McDonaugh, Joshua, Pearson(injured). I would like to see Tocchet put Podkolzin or Kravtsov with EP and Kuz to see if there is any chemistry. Can't call up Hoglander unless we have injuries but even then Studnicka plays before we play a call up I would assume. So Hoglander will have to finish the AHL year strong, have a great off season and come to training camp hungry and make Tocchet slot him in to a top 6 role potentially to start the year. Big off season ahead for the Canucks, Big risk to trade JT with how he has been playing but 5-7yrs from now if he does regress he won't be easy to move or may cost us to move him at that time. So if Canucks want to try and remain younger, clear more cap space to help improve the D more and then try and add a good C who can play the #2 hole they could look to move JT before July 1. We would be taking salary back, hopefully in a C capacity or a D that can play top 4 ideally right side in a potential JT trade

Hronek in the Ovechkin spot, test out his shoulder and let's see how this guy can tee up one timers! Do we finally have a hard shooting RHD....been since Salo no!? I am excited about Hronek, curious if team tries to extend him this year or play out next year and if he excels we can always just qualifying him at 5.5m or whatever his QO is and see if he can repeat that before we send over a Brinks truck to the Hronek driveway!?

It happened, it is part of history and we all know something like a riot will always be brought up...especially when we get back to being a playoff team! There is too much to list in this world that annoys us all, this is one of those things...maybe next time they will have more police/military presence and have designated areas where you have to be checked before entering so your bags are searched etc. I am not a fan of feeling like im squished in a sardine can, so I will never be at the block party/riot site. I actually want to enjoy watching the game being played and hopefully before i am dead the Canucks WINNING a Stanley Cup!!!

I know Jack's stat line doesn't look nearly as good this season compared to last year BUT...all the other D who have been called up this year have fit in quite seemlessly at the NHL level. So hopefully the coaching staff has helped Rathbone and his game out and we get to see him play the rest of the year! Gives the team a good idea going into next year if they think Jack has the inside track at an opening day roster spot or if they possibly look to trade him if they feel he has fallen behind Brisebois and Wolanin. Best of luck Jack, hope you get a chance to play the rest of the year. Be nice having another bomb from the point option!

is that the kid who broke out as a 19/20yr old in the AJHL and is over ppg in year one of College? He is a winger I believe, we need to add C and D. Got tons of wingers unless the guy has size and grit I would target more key areas of need for the team over another average winger.
