  1. Is it confirmed this site is folding!?!?!? What sad news if true...hope a computer techie type of person is a big Canucks fan and they make a new site and post it as a new pinned thread on here to transition from this site to the new one
  2. I think all seats will be replaced next summer was what they announced. Or all lower bowl will be at least followed by upper bowl the following summer. Either way they will be replaced, but I agree it should have all been done at once but they got concerts that make that hard to do I guess. Not like we haven't had long off seasons lately...
  3. You can't give the C to a guy that chose NOT to sign a long term extension this summer. Clearly EP is being very calculated, wants to see where team is (makes sense) but also knows and is being to by his agents that put up a similar or better year this season and watch your AAV exceed 12m annually. If JT wasn't so fiery he likely would have gotten the C. But at the same time if they gave JT the C maybe EP would choose to walk, think there will always be some friction between EP and JT AND that can be a good thing if they are pushing eachother to be and get better. It can also backfire in a BIG way and have EP asking for a trading next off season.
  4. Do it in the original skate colour scheme from the 90s not the new redesign wirh thick red and yellow bars on the sleeve... then I will buy one at a game this year!!! Aqualini ya ain't getting my $$$ for the whale jersey sorry NOT sorry!!!
  5. Also, if they did charge a membership fee it would be nice it they donated those funds to Canucks for kids or some other charity...maybe not the full amount but 50% that would add up if say 3/4 of us members stayed on this site via paid subscription. Aqualini does NOT need the revnue from it and it would look good on them if they did that versus not donating any of it and just taking the money
  6. Hopefully we would get an option to pick from. Or if they wanted they could do tiered memberships I suppose more you pay then better the perk you get is?
  7. 4 pages and no mods have come in to inform us IF anything is going to happen. Would be a mistake to shut it down but some smart techy Canucks fan can make a website and create categories and we can join. I wonder if they made it a paid year subscription to be on this forum if it would ween out some people. With that said, if I am paying it would be nice to receive some kind of Canuck gift or merch each year you renew. Could be something small, I don't see the need to charge much to be a member otherwise most will leave and start a new website that is free. We should NOT have to pay to talk Canucks imo but a small annual fee with a small gift would maybe work...???
  8. Like I said it was my dream not the reality. But for the sake of it, they do buy the stadium then they charge to view a certain amount or dare I say all practices at a cheaper rate that is affordable for young families who are not in school yet and or practice is held on a weekend. Would bring in revenue for owner, but they would limit how many people and maybe have nobody in the lower bowl, just suites if they even exist I can't remember and maybe the entire upper bowl or the center on both side of the upper bowl at least. Again its a dream, owner just needs to build a rink on a piece of land and have a nice off ice area for the players to train/relax/eat/treatments etc...We are the only or 1 of 2 NHL teams that do NOT have their own practice facility. In today's day in age what these athletes make and how much tickets cost Aqualini SHOULD build a practice facility for the players. Maybe then we can win a Stanley Cup!? Most teams who win the Cup do...
  9. The nostalgia in me wants to see this happen... Aqualini's buy the Pacific Coliseum and make that the Canucks practice facility. They upgrade it obviously and if possible build an addition that would give the players their fancy new gym, sauna/therapy rooms, pool and hottub with all the fancy best features for the players. Maybe allow fans to come to some of the practices where families can watch for cheap compared to attending an actual game. Season ticket holders get to see some practices I think...not sure maybe you can attend some practices already I really don't know!!! This likely never happens but would be cool if it did imo...
  10. so placing a small bet on the Canucks to MAKE the playoffs will pay half decent I assume...?!?!?
  11. Would like to see Oates be a part time consultant for the entire team. Can help teach the C's how to be better at faceoffs and give advice on the PP. With the money NHL players make, yes I agree they should be doing all they can to get better and or earn a spot on a team. Problem is players have agents, they are greedy and NHL contracts are guaranteed money, not based on a players performance like say the NFL. So, once a LoSerSSon signs a 6yr 36m deal he knows he is set for life, or when Oscar Myers signs his 30m deal with a 5m Signing Bonus just at training camps starts in the final year of his deal...they are protected financially with how these mamoth contracts can be protected with trade protection and signing bonuses etc. Tickets only get more expensive, the concession is highway robbery for what that food costs. Yet the only people who suffer are the fans attending the games and paying the insane prices. We got so many wingers it will be good for Klimovich to have another full year down in the AHL. I am hoping we can move out a few wingers between now and the TDL to give more ice time to some younger players and maybe a mid to late season call up for Karlsson and maybe a couple others in Abbotsford.
  12. Gagner may be ready to retire but having a chance to put on the jersey of the team that drafted him one last time to end his career on his terms be it on a PTO but not earning an NHL contract. It would still allow him to likely get some pre season games where he could wear the Edmonton uniform and kind of ride of into the sunset on his own terms with the team that granted him his childhood dream of becoming a NHL player and making millions along the way!!! Congrats to Sam for carving out a solid NHL career and making millions to setup up his family for generations hopefully! He holds the Edmonton record for most points in a single game does he not...that is impressive considering Wayne Gretzky kind of has all the records!!!
  13. If I am GM Alvin I offer EP40 8yr deal with a cap hit of 10.5m. Add on whatever trade protection he wants and if he wants large signing bonus money every July first...so be it make Aqualini pay up for his Star #1C
