I see Ekblad in our roster next year, especially if we were to trade Edler. Ekblad is probably the only player that could be considered as a franchise player in this draft. I also would see Reinhart in our roster since he would be our best prospect by a long shot compared to any of our top draft picks like Horvat, Shinks, Cassels, jensen etc. Reinhart can be NHL ready as soon as next year since there is nothing to gain for him going back to juniors and he would thrive at the NHL level.

You are right in that no one can predict what will happen in the future and how these kids develop. Although those top 5 players have higher chances of being a superstar players but there will always be gems that are in lower picks/rounds that were overlooked.

Only if Reinhart or Ekblad would fall to us, then I would say you are wrong.

I also want him. Him or Dal Colle for his Naslund like wrist shots. Both are great so I hope Edmonton and Calgary pick way off board and allow these two to fall in our laps for the picking.

That is what separates Leon from Virtanen. What the Canucks need more of in order to score more goals are more players that have that vision and that elite playmaking ability similar to Henrik Sedin. What we have in spades are the strictly north and south players that keep their head down and shoot or dump and chase.

Uh oh, better call their optometrists and see if we have to change their contact lenses....

Hometown boys? Like Brule, Beach etc? I want them to draft the best player available without looking at where they are from. Not all the hometown boys are great players.

Do you put more emphasis on speed or hockey IQ? I think you can increase speed by getting a skating coach but hockey IQ can't be taught.

The most important factor to being elite is hockey IQ. You can have all the elite tools but not be elite due to lack of hockey sense. If Booth had hockey IQ and vision/playmaking ability, he would probably be compared to the elites like Perry or Giroux. I want someone with hockey IQ, a player like Dal Colle, Draisatl, Bennett, Reinhart etc. Even Ritchie has a higher hockey IQ and better vision than Virtanen.

Don't really get the hype with Virtanen. I see Ritchie and Ehlers being better than Virtanen in terms of speed, shot, stickhandling and vision. Plus if one of the consensus top 5 is available, we would be insane to not draft one of them at #6. This just all reminds me of Kris Beach which we thankfully passed over for Hodgson. Now Beach isn't even in the NHL while we have traded Hodgson for Kassian (both still in the NHL).

I don't just listen to experts, since I also watched them play and I feel that Virtanen just has something missing in order to become an NHL star. He will make the NHL but he won't be the player playing on the 1st line. Dal Colle seems like a special player that I would take in a heart beat if Bennett, Reinhart and Ekbkad are taken. I am hoping Burke drafts Ritchie at 4th overall.

I feel Virtanen might be available after the top 10. Although a team can still draft him to 10, he just isn't in most of the top 5 list of prospects for this years draft. If we could get the consensus top 5 which are Ekblad, Bennett, Reinhart, Dal College and Draistal, then we should not be going for Virtanen. It would be considered off the table if one of the top 5 is available since he just isn't as talented as those guys. As we all know, size and speed along with a great shot just isn't enough if you don't have the hockey IQ, creativity and vision. Booth also has size, great speed and a great shot but just isn't that smart of a hockey player.

Drafting Virtanen at number 6 is just crazy. I feel we can get the top 5, so going off the table is just not a good idea due to the weak draft this year. I like to see us draft either Draistal or Dal Colle.

I feel bad for Danny, hope he is okay.I also think Gillis has left this team with lots of assets.

Just like those pansy hockey players who dive? IF you don't like to look past diving and whining, then don't watch soccer, basketball and hockey. Go watch golf, maybe it will be more up your alley. Seriously am so sick of people who keep complaining about diving whether its in soccer or hockey. Let it go man, do you watch the games to see if anyone dives or do you just watch it for the entertainment?

WOOHOO VIVA ESPANA!! The best team in the world and it seems no team can match them. Euro 2008 winner, World cup 2010 winner and Euro 2012 winner and probably will be 2014 World cup winner. I really did feel bad for Pirlo and Di Natalie along with Bonucci. Italy did pretty well in the tourney and I was actually scared that we would lose to them. I predicted this final before the tourney even started and thank god Spain won. The depth that Spain has is unmatched. Fernando Torres, David Villa, Puyol, David Silva, Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Ramos, Pique, Xavi Hernandez, Iniesta, Alonso, Casillas, Jordi Alba (young phenom going to Barcelona), Pedro ect. I can't see any team beating them in World cup 2014, since they've got the taste of winning and have kept rolling. Vincente is a brilliant coach and tactician.

You can't compare hockey to soccer. In soccer, players would probably die of dehydration, cramps, electrolyte imbalance etc. if they had to play continuously until a goal was scored. In hockey, it is possible but not in soccer. That is why you can't really compare the two sports, they are different.

For the last time, Buffon is the total opposite of Luongo. Buffon comes up real big in important games while Luongo is inconsistent and is the reason that he might get traded.

I told you guys Italy would win. Germany was kind of overrated in this tournament, ditto England. I always knew it would be Spain and Italy in the finals because of their D and Goalie. The final will be great. I like to see Spain win but it will be unpredictable since Italy could beat them. It will be a toss up as to who wins the Euro.

Can't believe England is the 5th best team in the world LOL!!!! I guess maybe 5th in the world when it comes to the number of cheerleaders. England is similar to Toronto, all talk yet they haven't won anything. All though GLASSJAW's tears are delicious.

How good is German's defense and goalie if they concede 2 goals to Greece? I just question their defense. Aside from Lahm, they just aren't that impressive on defense. Spain is a pretty balanced team overall, so they will have big problems with them once Iniesta and Xavi opens up their defense.

You could say it was pretty damn close, and Boston is right behind the Canucks in the hate department. So my point is valid when it comes to best teams being hated. Its kind of ironic how Germany dives the most in this tourney yet no one mentions it here.
