[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at San Jose Sharks | Dec. 16, 2021

well thats because we were a goalie graveyard and had cloutier during the WCE era. So this almost makes up for it. -
Vaccine are not really antibodies, they just train our immune system on how the virus looks and make the immune system generate antibodies against said virus. This is basic highschool biology from grade 12. You can also learn it in 1st year university courses too. Really simple science that was explained to me many times from many different courses spanning both highschool and university. I dont know why people still think Vaccines are aome type of antidote that protects us from the virus 100% of the time and actually doesnt let the virus into our body. Its not how vaccine works. Its all based on your immune system. The vaccine doesnt kill the virus, the immune system does through T cells and our memory B cells.

[Report] Canucks hire Derek Clancey as assistant GM
DefCon1 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Dont think so, we have only replaced Benning the GM and his Assistant GM weisbrod while letting Brackett go to Minny. Harvey took over Brackett's job from what I understand and we still have all our amateur scouting team in place as no one got fired from that team. So technically not a lot changes, we need to see who they hire as a GM. As of now, Clancy seems more of an assistant GM and not the head of scouting department. He only oversees day to day operation of both the Pro and amateur scouting. No big deal imo -

So if Clancy just "oversees" the amateur and pro scouting dept. then he probably isnt the person that will necessarily be dictating our draft list. I assume scouts will work together to make the list and Harvey would be making the final calls on a consensus and he would just be reporting to Clancy. I think people need to chill, they didnt replace all our scouts and the head of scouting dept with pens scouts -

That is pretty bad lol. But I want to know is it because the scouts in Pittsburgh is terrible or something else? I mean this Clancy dude will be using our scouting departments and our scouts and am sure he is not the only person that will decide who should be drafted. He will listen to our scouts and get inputs before deciding our draft list. -
That is a big deal when you want a cup contender. You need someone that doesnt piss away assets yearly. I mean the Canucks have leaked a lot of assets that their prospect pool is very weak now. Keeping 3rd round and 2nd round picks, Madden and even getting value for someone lile Markstrom would have made our prospect pool deeper than it is now. He also made boneheaded moves like McCann and 2nd for Gudbranson.Trading Forsling for a Clendening bum. Those assets would have made the Canucka a better team. Forsling would have been on our top pairing right now instead of poolman. That is the reason why Benning isnt a good GM if you want to build a cup contender. If you just want a good young core, then Benning is good for that.

He built a good core but Benning isnt a good closer GM or a GM that can put the finishing touches for a cup run. I would hire Benning as a GM for a rebuild and fire him once the rebuild is done but the team needs supporting cast. Bennings only great asset was his drafting. So he might be hired as head of the amature scouting dept.

The GM maybe someone he knows but he made a list of 40 people for the GM role. It might also be someone that is a younger AGM that has had good performance in a team like Avs and maybe he would be the stromg candidate. I see the AGMs as people Ruthrford feels comfortable with but the GM search will not be just the people he is familiar with. He said the GM search will be extensive and I believe him. -

I doubt you still know what pro scouting means if you are still looking at Pens drafts -
The way this team is playing, and the way LA, Oilers, Flames, Seattle has been playing lately, with 52 games to go, I dont see how you think its rough or hard to make it. We are 4 points behind the Oilers and Flames players have covid. Both could sink very fast. I think Canucks made a lot of ground in 2 weeks and if they with 3 or 4 more, they will pass Oilers too. Those game in hand must be won, if its a loss then there is no advantage. Also 52 games is a lot. St. Louis was last during christmas break before they went on a run. We are almost into the wild card position before christmas break.

[PGT] Columbus Blue Jackets at Vancouver Canucks | Dec. 14, 2021

Honestly with 7 wins in their last 8, Canucks are now in the safe zone of making the playoffs. Oilers have 32 pointa and we have 28 points so we can even bypass them which people here thought would be impossible two weeks ago. I feel confident we can make playoffs and we have like 52 games left. So they have plenty of runway to get into playoffs and even in a top 3 position thanks to the 7 wins out of 8 run.
