  1. The thing is we will beat ducks easy. We will also beat Arizona. So beating or losing to flames won't matter in the end for draft positioning.
  2. We won't finish 8th unless this team loses all their games including games against ducks and Arizona. Ducks suck so much that we will win even without trying. Just like how we won against Chicago 3-0 without trying much and Demko shutting out the door. This team under Tocchet will try hard to get the worst pick, they don't care about losing and they want to win all their games. Capitals and Detroit will lose all their games based on the teams they will face.
  3. At this point, we will end up 10th whether we win or lose against the flames so it's easy choice to beat the flames and knock them out of playoffs. We will beat the ducks and Washington loses all their games similar to Detroit because they will both face tough teams . The Canucks will easily beat the Ducks and Arizona so they will end up 10th even if they lose against the Lames.
  4. We could end up finishing 10 in draft spot unfortunately because Washington will lose all their games against Boston, NYI, FLA etc. Detroit might lose all their games. We can't finish higher than 12th in draft pick so we will be top 12 no matter what but highly likely to pick at 10th the way I see the schedule and how our team is doing. 8th was a good position to pick but we won't end up there unfortunately
  5. Yep already loving this management and their knack for signing these college free agents and young prospects. Way better than Benning signing often injured washed up NHL vets like Ferland, Poolman, Sutter etc.
  6. It was based on a corporation name, Orca sports and entertainment. That's why there is an Orca in Canucks logo
  7. The skate logo is fine. Just because some morons in the local media back in the 90s called it plate of spaghetti, now everyone thinks it's a mess lol. It's way more realistic and simpler than a constipating orca breaking through the ice to represent the name, Canucks. The current logo is the definition of a mess since it wants to represent everything at the same time, hockey, orca, native artist, colors of the city etc yet it is completely disconnected to the name Canucks.
  8. I don't get what so good about a corporate logo that has a picture of an Orca on it? Are we still representing the Orca sports and Entertainment?? Is John McCaw still the owner? So why keep it? There is no real good story of how they made that logo except for the fact that it represents a corporation and you think we should cling on the worst logo we have ever had in our history because you are too scared to change back or you think there is some identity crises if we correct the mistake and actually go back to the original logo.
  9. Two times to Stanley cup finals. Didn't know loser teams go to finals, you must win the conference to get there. I guess you rather lose all games and miss playoffs for 8 years
  10. No thanks. Rather not have another new logo. Either go back to skate jersey or stick with the current one
  11. The skate jersey represents the fact that we are a hockey team and as Canadians or Canucks we love hockey and it has the Canucks name incorporated. What does an Orca have anything to do with being a Canadian??
  12. Well I rather not have a constipating corporate orca logo. What does the orca have anything to do with the Canucks name?? Nothing at all. It's like the Panthers team having a logo of the rat on their jersey or logo of a palm tree. It doesn't make sense and makes the organization look like a Mickey mouse operation. Logos should be linked to their name or closely represent it while our logo fails at that. Also going back to the skate logo doesn't mean we keep changing logos. It just means we corrected a mistake. The orca should never have been out logo
  13. Rather have plate of spaghetti than a constipating whale
  14. Good thing you aren't a GM. Trading 8th overall in this draft and Likker for Kotakaniemi who has negative value and a big contract. That's even worst than Benning trading for OEL
  15. It's wide open when Myers is on the ice defending the same forward as Brisbois leaving the other player wide open
  16. The difference is that Boston still has the core players from that 2011 run which also have cup winning experience and mentor their other players. They still have Bergeron, Krecji, Marchand, Carlo etc. From 2011 cup run. That's like Canucks still having Sedins and Kesler playing like they are on their prime plus having players like Miller, Kuzmenko, Pettersson, Hughes and Demko. Yeah if you add those 3 to our lineup we would probably be as good as Boston is right now. Kuzmenko-Pettersson-Miller Sedin-Sedin-Beauvillier Boeser-Kesler-Garland Joshua-Aman-Podklozin Imagine that lol
  17. Gillis was actually our best GM by far, he implemented many programs to help players reach peak performance, had innovative sleeping programs and was the best in trades. He got Ehrhoff, Lapierre, Torres etc. Plus players like Sundin, Samuelsson, Hamhuis etc to build a contender. We could have won a cup with him if we didn't have injuries. He was a GM that could actually finish a team build and make it a contender just through smart trades and FA signings and also hiring a capologist and negotiating good deals. Obviously when you compete for the cup and win president trophies, you won't be drafting as good and frequently as bottom tier teams so his drafting should not be judged when we didn't have good picks to begin with. You either trade picks and prospects to win a cup or you tank and keep good picks and prospects and trade roster players for more of them. You can't be great in both, it's impossible unless you can keep getting gems in 6th or 7th rounds of the draft.
  18. I never got why people kept hoping Kuzmenko gets traded and what was the point to trade him. We got a high skilled 40 goal scorer who is still young and can develop more, but let's trade him for some magic beans and hoping that draft pick could someday be a Kuzmenko 5 years down the road and that's if we are lucky and it doesn't turn into a Jake Virtanen. I am just glad we have the management we do now instead of some posters here that like to trade Kuzmenko.
  19. I think fans enjoy tanking more than winning and making the playoffs. At some point, you forget about winning and accept a losing culture similar to teams like Arizona and Buffalo. So the goal at beginning of the year will be who to get in the 1st round versus who do you think we will face in playoffs in the 1st round and how many points will we get.
  20. You seem to be more concerned about contracts in 2030 then what the team is trying to do to win now. By your logic, we should just tear the team apart due to 2 big contracts and Start over again. So whenever a bad contract is signed, the team should automatically go into a rebuild because no other team in NHL has a bad contract, ever.
  21. Myers will be done after next year and will be trade this year to Arizona. Not sure what you are talking about
  22. People also forget that we don't know how good is our drafting ability with new management and staff in place. If it's the same JR and Alvin who drafted in Pittsburgh then I rather trade picks for players like Hronek since they were not good at drafting. Picks are only valuable if you are good in drafting. If you suck at drafting and you keep drafting busts, then it's better to trade picks for younger, more established players. Now imagine if we traded all our players for picks then used those picks to draft busts. We would still be bottom 5 team 5 years down the road similar to teams like Arizona. I only agree to keep picks if the drafting ability is great. We had it in Benning era but am not sure about the JR/Alvin era.
