I think we need to spread our offense. Garland-Pettersson-Boeser Hoglander-Horvat-Pearson Petan-Miller-Podkolzin Lockwood-Dickenson-Gadjovic or Highmore We need 3 offensive lines imo. Our one attacking line which was our 2nd line couldnt score any goals tonight. 2 lines will also not be enough so hopefully they can construct 3 lines.

Dude its an AHL lineup, with no game breakers. The one game breaker that is in our lineup is Horvat with 20 shots. Plus Grubauer is Vezina caliber playing behind a much decent defense. They are beating our AHL defense. Rathbone, Burroughs and Juolevi are just bubble players on our D which is missing Hamonic, Hughes and Poolman.

Green needs to play all our regulars in the next 2 games. We need a good start and the team needs to be ready. This preseason just shows us there is not really anyone in the bubble standing out to make this team. Lockwood has been good, but players like Dowling, Focht, Dries etc. are just going to be sent back and havent shown anything.

Terrible PK against an average seattle PP. If we are this bad at pk with Seattle scoring this much I think they will get shredded against the Oilers. Canucks are reverting back to old ways of defending on PK which is passive, stand in a box and let them take free shots. When will Baumgartner get fired, I cant stand that PK strategy. Also we need Motte, Hamonic and Sutter as soon as possible.

[proposal] Hamonic + ??? to Anaheim for Josh Manson
DefCon1 replied to Patel Bure's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Maybe Canucks send conditional pick for Lauzon instead of having Seattle waive him and get nothing. Also it makes Canucks the team to get him first instead of losing him on waivers. -
The funny thing is Canucks werent the only ones to give up on him, as Chicago traded him for peanuts and Canes waived him, later to be claimed by the Panthers. So thats like 4 to 5 years removed from when he was drafted by Canucks. I probably wouldnt see him with Canucks even if the Canucks didnt trade him, because they have Hughes now and Rathbone.

I would love to have Cernak on our team as he fulfills a need on this team. As for Chychrun, he will not be a fit within our cap structure unless we got rid of one of Myers, OEL or Hughes. Cernak would fit our structure and fullfil a need as a shutdown D. Tampa will not trade him though even with cap problems.

There is no way Canucks trade Pettersson unless Pettersson asked for it. Also there is no way I trade a number 1 elite center who is still very young and Hughes who is very dynamic for just Chychrun and a less effective Keller. It messes up chemistry and creates a big hole on our top line. A #1 C is just as hard to find as a #1 D. It might make the Canucks worse overall even if their D becomes a bit better.

Well we have definitely a highly offensive D group with elite offense in Hughes and OEL. They would be top 10 in offense or maybe top 5 if Rathbone explodes for points and Myers has a decent offensive season. Problem is that we would probably be bottom 10 in defensive zone, as we dont really have a true shut down D man that can play heavy minutes. Hamonic is the only one that can but he is not a good skater. Benning is missing a Larsson or Tanev type D. I hope he can find one since Hamonic can not be relied on for this season.

Bowey is not the type of D that should replace Hamonic lol. His underlying numbers from previous seasons were horrible. Unless he improves dramatically, I dont see him making the cut.
