  1. Don't mind this. Pretty sure it's just a band-aid /depth move to complete this season. I don't think it impacts the trade deadline or give clues to a pending deal. Petan back to Abby (although I haven't been unhappy with his play) Or, I could be wrong.
  2. The team needs change. If it comes today because someone is willing to overpay, great. If not, they have all summer to move players, sign players etc. Don't trade for tradings' sake to appease fans. So far we have a 1.5 million $ cap dump, an upside bottom pair Defenseman and we got rid of Hamonic the Drama Queen.
  3. It's not going to be popular because both trades are horrible. You refer to them as young stud D-men. The key there is potential stud D-men. and switching 4 contracts for 8 isn't a great plan either. HARD NO!
  4. Good defensively on a non-defensive Leafs team, 1.5 million per year cheaper than Hamonic. 25 years age, coming into those maturing D-man years. Cheaper with upside versus declining drama queen at 3 million. I think it's a win with potential upside.
  5. That would assume someone wants to take on the drama queen. No one wants that for playoffs. Between crying to get back West when he was with the Islanders, his relatively quick exit in Calgary and all the stuff here plus declining skills and 3 million for a 5-6 Dman. No Thanks.
  6. Glad to see this drama queen leave town. Saving $3 million and getting a 3rd is a good haul. b-bye!
  7. Bobby Taylor continues to have a broadcast career despite being a complete and utter tool. Has two Stanley Cup rings and lives off their glory despite rarely touching the ice as Bernie Parent's back-up in 74 and 75. He's a bitter "never was" and likely needs to be put out to pasture.
  8. He didn't attend camp. That's a hold out.
  9. I'm looking forward to not watching it. It's hot garbage.
  10. Ummm...what? We only scored two goals despite 40 shots. It required Demko to be far better than decent.
  11. To be fair he doesn't deserve more. His effort is horrendous. He's like a whiny child who has lost his ball. I remember the drive he had if someone took the puck from him. He would fight to get it back. There is literally none of that drive left. That's on him, but at this point given the investment at minimum all the coaches need to go. And I mean ALL
  12. There is ebb & flow in a season. The Flames and others will have some bad streaks as well. Again, there is certainly cause for concern because the pieces we thought we had have not performed well collectively to date. Is there need for some urgency? Certainly.
  13. We have played less than 1/4 of the season. That hardly constitutes a lost season that can't be saved. The 'fans" on this forum are cringeworthy. Are we in trouble? Absolutely. We still have 66 games to get it right.
  14. He learned from Al Arbour, a coaching dinosaur so this isn't a surprise. Don't like the player move at all, thought he had Top 9 potential. Other teams seem to take flyers on similar players and find some diamonds in the rough, We keep guys or sign has-beens in hopes of triumphant returns or progress and don't give these guys a sniff.
  15. I'm glad they ousted this guy. Hell, he didn't even know the words to the whole song.
  16. Bure was very much a team player. Ask anyone he played with. I've had good occasion to as I've been fortunate to play some games with the Canuck Alumni over the years and heard it from a bunch of them. As much as I loved Quinn and Burke they pulled a lot of BS on contract negotiations which led to Bure getting fed up. Then the team fed the media stories of it being Bure wanting out. Imagine coming to terms on a contract and then the team saying it was based on Canadian funds although every contract in the league at the time was US because of the volatility of the Canadian dollar, With all that said Steamer is a great choice as well.
  17. Well written but I now have Styx "Too Much Time On My Hands" on play and repeat in my brain. Thanks for the Earworm.
  18. Think we have some mid-sized forwards that play with some grit. Miller doesnt take any crap. As mentioned above Pearson, Bo & Dickinson have some size. I was intrigued on whether they might take a swing at Ritchie. Seems like a real miss and frankly surprised the Bruins let him walk. I wouldn't be surprised to see Benning add a 4th line knuckle dragger to the fold after he gets the 4 contracts signed of our RFA's.
