  1. Sure. But I'd still be moving Miller then. Garland for Marino. Miller + Ferland to Vegas for Patches, Hague and Roy
  2. Maybe? But then we wouldn't also be getting Poulin, Blomqvist and a 1st.
  3. Doubt we're getting Clarke. They're not likely going to give him up. I actually wanted Faber (who's closer to the dman type we need/DeNiro wants). But yeah, some guys here are definitely under rating Marino. Man... Not even sure if that was autocorrect, not enough coffee, or me thinking about Zooey Deschanel again Yup. I'd happily take more size too but if not, "young Tanev" is perfectly fine with me too. And then ideally we still find a longer term, bigger, better all around partner for Hughes over the next few years. Whether that's something like Colorado's Toews trade, or drafting and developing etc.
  4. I'd be hoping he'd goal differential as much (while bringing some other much needed elements to the roster, that Garland doesn't) That's not the same as scoring as much. But just as effective.
  5. But Marino is a d man I want The trade return doesn't have to be the perfect Hughes partner. While that would certainly be nice, it's too limiting. Even if Marino turns out to be better with say OEL, it's still a top roster need, getting younger, shedding cap, etc etc.. Agreed! So Marino it is!
  6. But again, I did just replace it. With Mikayev. Nothing against Garland, I quite like him as a player and he's certainly productive. But I'm not sure he's a fit in this roster, particularly if we're keeping the cheaper Hoglander. We could get actual value for him in trade for a team that already has more size in their lineup and get a better fitting player here. Roughly similar production, roughly similar cap... And we gain futures.
  7. Seriously though. If we're simply not going to get a "Schneider" (and LAK's version in Faber is already gone so the options are dwindling), who would CDC prefer? Lundkvist or Marino... Almost wonder if I should start a pole
  8. Then take that and move Garland for futures and replace with UFA Mikayev
  9. I dunno, if we're trade out Garland for futures and sign Mikayev to replace him... I'd be ok with that
  10. We need to move Miller out, for a Marino +, Schneider+ etc and replace with a "proper" 3C (my preference would be acquiring Roy from Vegas). Also need to move Myers out, ideally for futures and again, ideally sign Lyubushkin or similar. From there, add some solid depth/grit guys, more RH'd C's etc. Acciari, Bjugstad, Lazar... I'd we can swap a Dickenson for a Kapanen etc, sounds like they want to move out Pearson (though I'm not opposed to keeping him... Good middle 6 guy IMO) that would be great too. Podkolzin, Pettersson, Boeser Kuzmenko, Horvat, Garland Kapanen, Roy, Hoglander Lammiko, Acciari, Highmore Hughes, Marino OEL, Lyubushkin Rathbone/Dermott, Schenn (or however the pairings sort out)
  11. Yup. Wonder who people would prefer... Lundkvist or Marino?
  12. Haven't been drinking a tonne of beer since we're left the mainland and I no longer have Four Winds readily available (if you can get it, just about anything by them, buy it!) but I do enjoy a Steamworks Kolsch once in a while.
  13. Have you tried: Or: My two favourite Argentinian Malbecs
  14. I'd imagine that would be the case for most winery owners
  15. That could explain why he looked like he'd been hanging out at Venice beach all summer
  16. Are we expecting the team to be "finished" this summer? I fully expect that we'll have some "tweeners", maybe some "money-puck" guys etc playing up the lineup in the top 9, as we continue to build a better team the next couple seasons. Those guys will eventually get pushed down/off the lineup. Ideally we get the rest of the team sorted the next couple years and then can look to add that "cherry on top" skilled winger (if we cant find/develop one internally) then.
  17. I think this article is hilarious... We need a replacement 2C and to improve to make it further in the playoffs...here's some spare parts (and Lundkvist...who's good, but not really who we need) https://www.foreverblueshirts.com/new-york-rangers-trade-tiers-from-untouchable-to-on-the-move/
  18. Don't listen to the crazy Alien, I'm sure JR likes Kapanen well enough as a side piece/buy low project/useful depth player, but he won't be a key piece in a Miller trade. Marino, Poulin, Blomqvist, 1st, POJ ec would be the potential pieces coming back. If we're getting Kapanen too, it's only if we're sending a guy like Diciknson back the other way IMO. Funnily, they'd probably make Dicky a useful 3rd liner, they have a knack for that That swap could work out for both teams actually. How "standout" was Tanev at 24? Smooth, calm, steady, solid defensively...sure. But he wasn't ever getting people out of their seats. Still doesn't. Him along with Poulin, Blomqvist and their 1st is a solid deal that helps us know and in a few years when we're contending. Would I prefer Schneider + etc...maybe. But they can certainly offer a compelling, if less "sexy" package.
  19. Not that I disagree with the overall premise, I agree he could lean down 10'ish pounds and likely be better for it. But I do wonder if he heavily focused on strengthening everything around his back to help protect/compensate for that injury?
  20. You basically summed it up yourself. OEL playing with Hughes on the PP, Hague on the PK... Voila. We'll likely have little choice but to shake up the PP, with the likelihood Miller is gone.
