  1. So if he can play as a #1.... That makes him...? He's not a 2nd pair D. And if we can get them both appropriate partners, there's zero reason we can't have two "first" pairs, and play them each +/- 25 minutes a game. Yes please!
  2. Agree with everything... Except OEL isn't a 2nd pair D in any way, shape or form. And $7.26 isn't remotely rich for a first pair D.
  3. But then we wouldn't have Miller...who we hopefully trade for a RHD ++ Funny that.
  4. I think we could easily get both for just one of those players given the context of offer sheets and their cap situation. Especially if we also "help them" with their cap by say taking back Brossoit and giving them Ferland's LTIR to add to Weber's. And if OEL moves right, him and Hague could make a hell of a decent 2nd pair and still allow for Rathbone on the 3rd. Hughes, Marino/Schneider etc (Miller trade) Hague, OEL Rathbone, Schenn Dermott, Burroughs And then Pettersson, Horvat and Roy as our top 3 C depth... Yes please!
  5. Start with these: https://canucksarmy.com/2022/06/07/the-trade-market-for-canucks-d-tyler-myers-might-be-14-teams-bigger-than-we-thought/
  6. Meh, Boeser is hardly the only player/Benning the only manager to sign a high QO bridge. League's littered with them. And as I've been saying for a year +, he can always sign for his actual value vs taking his QO...and lookie what happened today. No it doesn't but I think it speaks to why it is a good contract, I agree.
  7. I think you missed the Brossoit part...It's not me who doesn't get it.
  8. We take Brossoit back, they clear that cap, they're already going to be in LTIR with the Weber contract, they get an extra $3.5m LTIR to use.
  9. We can help them with their cap and offer a return as well
  10. Not if the team has loads of money, wants to win now and is already operating in LTIR...
  11. Not outright saying he's being shopped but... https://www.yardbarker.com/nhl/articles/golden_knights_may_look_to_shop_nic_hague/s1_16928_37637995
  12. End of this coming season. Should be quite moveable to a team set to operate in LTIR.
  13. Love to "help them out" with their cap. We get Roy and take back Brossoit (cap) and send them like a 3rd or equivalent prospect + Ferland's LTIR (they'll already be operating in LTIR with Weber). Add to that if we can get Hague too.
  14. And really, this isn't all going to get finished in one off season. The team won't be "complete". But you move Miller to fill some of the other holes (RD, prospect depth etc) and start to get a handle on cap, you find a 3C, you try and find some "money-puck" guys, Kuzmenko etc to fill in around the main top 6 guys (Petey, Horvat, Boeser, Podkolzin) etc. We may not have an "ideal" top 6 next season. There's probably a tweener or two that aren't long term solutions there/eventually get pushed down the lineup. But you have to start building towards the team you want, and these are the first steps.
  15. Reports are that we're getting better offers now than at the TDL. Me think's we'll get a good offer before/at the draft.
  16. I'm not actually a bad singer, she's practically mine!
  17. Right after I win the lotto, invent time travel and start dating Zooey Deschannel.
