  1. Washington would likely be mostly your "magic beans" (probably multiple firsts) along with maybe some Iorio, Lapierre, Protas etc. We can likely do better. That said, the more teams bidding...
  2. Hoglander likely would have been better served by some time in the AHL FWIW. If he had, we might not have seen the struggles and healthy scratches he had this year. Karlsson is likely going to need time to adjust to the North American game, refine his two way play, and continue working on his skating. Happy for him to come blow the doors off and prove me wrong, but I think that's probably less likely.
  3. Like I said at the draft, his upside is probably a (slow) second pair, offensive D that needs defensive sheltering. I'll give you that It's an NHL player, which is always a win coming out of the draft, but you don't draft that high for that middling of upside IMO. Ability to put up points or not. I would have picked any of Hughes, Boqvist, Dobson, Smith and Miller before him in that draft and probably still would.
  4. Big virtual hug to the Boeser family
  5. Slow offensive guy who can't play in his own end. Just like when he was drafted... No thanks
  6. Welcome to the club of arguing with people who don't understand the difference between RFA and UFA contracts.
  7. That's fine as a fan. Unfortunately, players interact with each other a LOT off the ice.
  8. I've got zero problems with hockey players who play the game hard, even a little dirty, rats, pests etc. Love to add more to the roster in fact. And most of the best of those guys, are absolute gentlemen in person. What I don't want, is the team adding a person, with a pretty clear history of being a bad person, lacking in character, who has repeatedly worn out his welcome and become a distraction to numerous teams. No thanks. Nobody is disputing he knows how to play hockey well. Kane, the hockey player, isn't the issue.
  9. This just in: Miller extends for a team friendly deal, or gets traded. Vintage, can you ask Rick to probe Rutherford on his thoughts re: the wetness of water next? Thanks bro!
  10. Yup. I'd rather see prospects, college/euro/veteran UFA's etc. Preferably with more speed and/or grit. Nothing personal, he did a fine job under the circumstances, but I want to see different pieces there. Hell, I'd even prefer bringing back Richardson instead as our 13th F.
  11. Absolutely. I don't think we're getting Clarke, but I'd definitely have interest in Grans. I'd prefer to send him out of division/conference though if the offers are roughly equal though.
  12. If we somehow get Marino (or similar) this summer and sign Lyubushkin after moving out Myers, I'll be positively giddy.
  13. Honestly, I'd prefer that Marino, Blomqvist, Poulin and 1st theoretical package from PIT. I don't mind either Chytil or Lundkvist as "parts" but we can do better if they're supposed to be NYR's main pieces.
  14. Yeah, not (remotely) a millennial there bud. Sorry. Nice diatribe though
  15. Sold! I'd start with Marino, Blomqvist, Poulin and their 1st. I'd be fine with Kapenen coming back personally as a "project/cap return". If for instance we were sending something like Miller + Poolman (to help replace some of Marino's minutes, for further down their lineup). He's got good speed, decent 2 way game, can PK etc. But yeah, if it's just a Marino-Miller swap, I'd just prefer other assets like Poulin, Blomqvist, the 1st... Finally broke down and ordered a replacement vape on the weekend. Shame it won't be here to celebrate this moment
  16. Exactly. Only thing I can't figure out, is how we get them to give up Marino
