Potentially. Young F anyway. Guys like Chytil were rumoured to be in an offer but he projects more as W'er that can fill in at C than an outright C. I'd still be targeting a Paul/Tierney/Sturm regardless. Otherwise, take you're silly owner narrative elsewhere. Management didn't do a trade because nobody was willing to cough up the overpay we were (rightly) asking for two, cost controlled playoff runs with Miller. We were under zero pressure to move him without an overpay as he's still under contract. That's it. There's no "owner conspiracy". That and management sound like they'd like to see if they can sell him on a home town discount to stay. That's doubtful IMO, but I don't blame them for trying. He IS a good player. If by some miracle they get him to agree to something like $7.5x6 (though longer than I'd prefer)... Great! I just don't see that as a realistic or likely outcome. And Miller is still worth a good young player, a good ready/near ready prospect and a pick IMO. More if we retain. -

I'd love to, but I don't think we going to be able to get rid of Dickinson, unless we buy him out. Plus, I have to hope that somewhere in there is the player (probably as winger though) that he was in Dallas, and hope that this year was just a case of new city/new team/not fitting in to the hoped for C role/bad Green start to the season etc. WAY too early to give up on Hoglander IMO. That'll age almost as well as the people wanting to trade Pettersson IMO. That said, depending on the return, I'm not opposed to moving him. I wonder what him and Rathbone packaged could get us...? -

Honestly wouldn't be opposed to doing near just that. One of Tierney/Paul, Sturm and Richardson would be just fine IMO. Have a bottom 6 of: Pearson, Paul/Tierney, Hoglander Dickinson, Sturm, Lammiko Richardson Yes please. -

Doesn't have to be for a 3C. We have some solid UFA Upton's available this summer in Paul, Tierney and Sturm. And again, moving Miller doesn't mean we have to carry on, down C depth. We just don't need to commit more, massive dollars and term to the position when we have Pettersson and Horvat. Yeah, we could have really used Pearson in the lineup -

Another game, another example of why I'm not worried about Petey (or letting Miller go... and putting a better team around Petey and the rest of the young core). -
Sort of, we're just all running our own simulations lol

We are all hallucinating, all the time.

I wouldn't actually be shocked. Their window isn't exactly going to be open much longer and PLD's been decent but hasn't really lived up to the hype either. Would likely allow them to make one last real push...doubt they'd be able to retain him though (I don't see Miller staying in WPG regardless of money ). By the time PLD is maybe something like as good as Miller now, they're probably rebuilding anyway... -

Yup... Petey, Horvat, sign one of Paul/Tierney for 3C, wouldn't hate trying to nab Sturm as well. Heck I'd bring back Richardson or similar near league min to play 4th line/13th F. Could even play him and Lammiko on Sturm's wing and be available to take face offs if someone gets waived or injuries etc. Petey, Horvat, Paul/Tierney, Sturm, Lammiko, Richardson... Nothing at all wrong with that C depth. -

I have. Numerous times. That's one thing we agree on... signing a Paul/Tierney/Sturm. Heck, I wouldn't be opposed to signing a couple guys. One of Paul/Tierney and one of Sturm or even bringing back an inexpensive Richardson (or similar). -

We can still have good C depth without saddling ourselves to a Miller extension. -

It didn't actually have misleading onformation in it. It was quite balanced. I didn't say they will move Theodore, I said it's being discussed as a possibility. Guys like Dadanov will cost them an arm and a leg to move and they have limited options as to who they can move between clauses, contracts etc. The article brought up real, actual issues that might cause a guy like Theodore to shake lose. Or if not him, potentially Hague. Either way, they're going to need to give up big time assets (prospects and picks) to move guys like Dadanov, or lose guys like Theodore, Hague etc. The canucks being in position to take advantage of either of those scenarios is a good thing. But that doesn't fit your little view, so you're still yelling at clouds. -

You'd actually have to have a cogent argument to "win" it. -

Nope. They all expire sooner than later and before too many of these raises will be due. An extended Miller does not. Extrended Miller stiil = bad plan. They're all going to have to go eventually. -

You asked for a link to an article where it had been discussed when I'd noted it had been discussed in the media. I gave you one. Then you proceeded, as usual, to start moving goalposts when information doesn't fit your tiny view. How tiresome. -

Literally the first article that came up when I googled it... Jesus you guys lol https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehockeynews.com/.amp/news/how-will-the-golden-knights-manage-the-salary-cap-in-the-long-run "Shea Theodore is excellent, but Alec Martinez has a no-trade clause and Alex Pietrangelo has a no-move clause, so Theodore (unfortunately) may be the odd-man out, especially if the Knights commit to Hague and think he can bring offense with his heavy shot. " Fwiw, I'd happily take Hague for cheap as well if they don't want to give up Theodore probably not as good of a player (though that's debatable long term) but arguably a better fit for our needs. And cheaper. -

And if that happens, wouldn't it be nice to have the younger trade assets from moving Miller, the cap space to take cap/buy assets and not have an albatross contact on the books... Hmmm Just one in the very long list of reasons to not extend Miller... Need to have money to support and extend the young core. -

There's already rumors that Shea Theodore might be the one made available to make room for Eichel this summer as they hope/assume Hague can take a step. Anybody want Theodore for cheap? Nah! We should probably extend a 30 year old to a retirement deal before our window is even open instead, and just continue to ignore the glaring issues on our D...
