  1. He's not a 3rd liner bruh... "Motte's" should max out at about $1.8m. More than that and it's time to find "next Motte". Can you see Tampa pay Motte $2.5m?
  2. I don't see Motte for re-signing under $2m. I don't see the Canucks signing him for more. Chances are, he's getting moved. Sorry bruh.
  3. Warm, 4th line, NHL body through the last twenty whatever games.
  4. We'd likely need to take some additional cap back (~$1.5m), but I'd LOVE something around that. Dickinson might actually fit in the B's too.
  5. I doubt the return gets better later. But if we're not getting the better return now, there's no point in moving him now. If all we're getting is "summer value", we can just move him... In the summer.
  6. I won't be pissed at all. I'll have to assume we didn't get an offer worthwhile and look forward to seeing the return this summer. Motte should likely be gone or re-signed though. And I wouldn't hate news of a Halak or Dickinson trade. Hamonic was a good start yesterday, now they need to keep rolling.
  7. Seriously though. If I have to read one more "our record under Bruce" comment... This team is not good enough. Sell vets and build.
  8. Pretty sure acquiring Miller handily beats this one. Getting Motte is probably equivalent.
  9. Given it's Tampa. All but guaranteed rental who makes it to UFA. This is actually better for us and they're not likely a team to extend him.
  10. Is he though? Tanev was a "poor man's Tanev" at the same age too. We have plenty of depth. What we lack is top 4 caliber D and any succession plan for all these guys expiring over the next two years (Hamonic next year, Myers and Schenn the year after). The D needs a MASSIVE overhaul with youth and more speed. To overhaul, you need to move some of those old, ill fitting pieces out.
  11. That would be good. Likely mean Schenn (preferably Poolman) out though then. I was hoping Paul was going to be the return which might = a Miller trade but Marino would be good too!
  12. Would have preferred Poolman but one of the two had to go (and Hamonic is both better and shorter term, so obviously easier to move). One of those guys in your lineup is fine. Two is just goofy and inefficient use of cap space. Things! Happening!
  13. I don't even think it's a size issue personally. Where's he going to get the offensive usage, pp time etc he'll need, to be successful, playing behind Hughes and OEL on the left side? Those minutes simply will never exist. Maybe if he switched and plays right side... Otherwise I have no idea where he fits.
  14. Perhaps? By "lesser" I mean closer to what teams are apparently offering now (though that's still not enough IMO). There's zero reason to move him for "summer value" now, when we can keep him and move him for summer value... In the summer.
  15. Only way I see this is if he's simply cap coming back. Something like Dermott+Liljegren for Motte+Poolman....?
