  1. I was hoping he'd do that but that it would raise his trade value/interest
  2. Maybe. And if he can still contribute, it's not the end of the world. But it's certainly not ideal either. But that's clearly the reason many folks were against extending him. It's been the same reason for over a year and it has nothing to do with anyone thinking he's a 'bad player".
  3. Not if you get a player like one of those examples. They're littered throughout nearly every draft and the only way you get them is by....
  4. I have no idea what's imminent at this point with Kuz or anyone else, but regardless, their plan does seem to focus on a +/-2 year "build". That's still going to put Miller at 32+ and very soon to be declining by the time they get this sorted. And that's if they actually get it sorted under optimistic timelines. Good player. Doesn't fit the timeline.
  5. Cool rant. In summary: Human rights, equality and inclusiveness aren't religious issues. Period. Bigotry and intolerance are not "beliefs" or tenets of his religion. Period. You claim to be a smart guy, I'm pretty sure you can put that all together and see why something's not quite lining up here
  6. That was great to see, agreed! To be fair, I don't think there's many people that think Mller's a bad player, just a poor fit for this team's timeline given most of his few remaining peak years will be while we're building (ie: not competing), and then declining, at $$$, when we're trying to compete.
  7. Sure...but unless those players make it to UFA ~27 and pick your team and you pay $$$, that's the only way you're getting a McAvoy/Chabot/K.Miller. You're certainly not getting a 21-23 year old version of any of those in trade for anything we can afford to give up. You gotta play the lotto to win.
  8. There's a bunch of D ranked in the last 1/3 of this draft FWIW. Just saying... And one could argue, some of those guys would likely be in the 2/3 section, in a less deep draft. That's where you get guys like McAvoy, Chabot, K.Miller etc, etc...
  9. *For a team looking to win now. It's a pretty solid value deal in fact. Just not for this team that's clearly going to be just building (no "re" ) for the next couple years.
  10. No, it is that way. I see your trying to shuffle those religious goal posts back in to a human rights issue...
  11. Using his status as an NHL player to actively, purposefully and publically withdraw support of equality and inclusivity towards LGBTQ+ people.
  12. So anyway... Back to Provorov. His actions were condoning of bigotry and intolerance. He's free to do so (within the bounds of the law). The rest of us are free to point out his support of bigotry and intolerance as unacceptable. Yay freedoms. Nothing to do with his religion or culture (or anyone's IQ, or that they have a gay friend, or imagined, hyperbolic "witch hunts").
  13. And every time we remind you that there's no religious tenants against wearing colourful hockey jerseys and that this isn't a religious issue... You move goal posts and red herring away so you can feign offense.
  14. Let's just move these humans rights goal posts over here to religion so I can red herring some feigned offense at the "intolerance"... If it wasn't so sad and funny, I'd probably be more disgusted.
  15. Funnily enough, it's the religious people who keep bringing up religion. This isn't a religious issue. It's a human rights issue. But them goal posts gotta move to get them red herrings in...
  16. They use the cap space from Horvat expiring to sign/trade for one? Doubt they care if they manage to win a cup with Horvat, who is a clear upgrade over Roy. They also have a metric butt tonne of C prospects.
  17. Well your right there. Humans are definitely failing their religions, not the other way around. Provorov would fall directly in that group.
  18. Did you actually read the articles? The first one is bang on. Oh no, somebody called the NHL "offside" for not doing more about Provorov's bigoted actions! What a "witch hunt"! Poor Provorov! The second one made far bigger assumptions than you're accusing me of Hyperbole. Yes I was. I literally used the word equivalent in the statement. It's exactly what I did. If the team has a Holocaust support night where the team was wearing the star of David jerseys at warm-up, and he actively, publicly made a point of coming out to media to say he wouldn't wear one... What do you think that says?
  19. I didn't say that's what he would do, I said his actions are the equivalent of. Reading comprehension it's your friend.
  20. What witch hunt? Are people waiting outside Wells Fargo arena with torches and pitchforks? Again, laughable hyperbole. People are expressing their thoughts on his unacceptable, bigoted behavior. Poor Provorov. And no, I'm not assuming anything, I'm drawing a parallel. That's the statement his actions made, whether some if you would prefer to ignore and/or deflect it or not.
  21. What witch hunt? People are using their freedom of speech to rightly call him out for his intolerance condoning actions. Laughable hyperbole. Tolerance, equality and inclusion for all people... Absolutely bonkers Provorov was the equivalent of someone proudly using their platform as an NHL player to declare they wouldn't do a damn thing if they saw a gay person being attacked, or not aloud to play a sport, or use a washroom etc, because they're gay. Yeah, he should be real proud.
  22. You're just a constant stream of goalpost moving red herrings aren't you? Who suggested we throw him in jail?
