  1. I actually think you have this backwards The first group of religious, but science believing and empathetic humas are probably closer to the original religion's actual teachings. The latter group....well let's just say they're a bit... misguided and over enthusiastic...
  2. Where they are is only a minor concern IMO but it does matter. I'd probably do it for Bo straight across. Why are we adding JL? I'm not opposed to losing him but that's different than just throwing him in. Bo's the 30+ goal scoring, face off winning machine with legit NHL experience and a history of elevating his game in the playoffs. Wright's a hell of a good prospect but he's proven bupkiss at this level so far.
  3. That's basically where I'm at on that subject. Happy to societally "normalize" and bring awareness to it...but it does seem a rather empty gesture. Baroness Von Sketch nailed it IMO. On a positive note, religion in Canada is steadily decreasing over time https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/221026/dq221026b-eng.htm
  4. Straight across, to a division and regional rival for a 30+ goal scoring, faceoff winning machine C in his prime... No.
  5. Where's the eggplant and squirt emojis on here anyway?
  6. "Come on guys, I was just saying we should only verbally harass the F@gs and queers"!
  7. Yup, pointed this out on page 1. That or that we could just "Bjorkstrand" him for a couple mid picks. Both of which are clearly preferable, and far more likely than a buyout.
  8. JK, Morrow, Seeley and 1st or one of Necas/Jarvis, Heimosalmi and 1st. Their choice.
  9. They really do make the most sense, so long as they aren't planning to continue their fence sitting during their contention window. Bo would fit that team like a glove, at their greatest position of weakness and they have solid assets to return. Writes itself honestly.
  10. It doesn't mean "you" HAVE to at all. I haven't seen anyone suggesting he be held down and forced to wear a pride jersey. But you're kidding yourself if you don't think that not wearing one makes a VERY clear statement on how you view those rights, for those people. And people are equally free to point out that those actions are indeed intolerant, ignorant and hateful. Because they are. And it has exactly bupkiss to do with what your personal religion happens to think about marriage.
  11. Equal rights have absolutely zippity-doo-da to do with what one's personal religion thinks about marriage. So, nope.
  12. LGBTQ+ people didn't "chose" to be so, any more than I "chose" to be a short, hetero, Caucasian man with gorgeous eyes that women get lost in. Not supporting their equality and rights to simply exist as people on this planet is at best condoning of intolerance towards them. At worst...it's worse. He has the right to do so. We have the right to point out his actions are ignorant, intolerant and hateful. Yay freedom!
  13. Ask yourself what statement is being made by not partaking.
  14. This isn't a "sides" thing. There's no "opinion" here, religious or otherwise. You're either tolerant of those people or you're not. AKA, you're "intolerant". His actions clearly state he's of the latter variety and he's chosen to use his religion as a shield to hide behind to enable it. And intolerance to LGBTQ+ people based solely on the fact that they are LGBTQ+, is in fact, ignorant and hateful. There's no grey area, or "opinion" here. You either support them as equal people worthy of the same respect and rights as any other people, or you do not. Full stop. Your religion does not get to save you from repercussions of those actions or other people taking you to task for them. It is certainly neither commendable or brave.
  15. He's another mediocre (at best) defense, offensive D (oft injured and with a declining offensive game) who like Hughes, OEL and Myers all want/need the puck and to "create", to play their game. He's not remotely what we need (which are guys like Tanev, Marino, Cernak etc) to play with guys like Hughes. Guys good at moving the puck but mostly solid defensively and don't need to "create" or take chances. And again, oft injured and declining.
  16. Let's stop dancing around it and hiding behind religion. Why EXACTLY did he not wish to participate? Was it because his religion is against wearing colourful hockey jerseys for a few minutes?
  17. This board's ridiculous obsession of "Boeser for Dumba" makes me want to kick puppies For the millionth time CDC...They don't need and can't afford Boeser. We have zero need for Dumba.
  18. I doubt Minny gives up Greenway unfortunately, but yes to the general premise.
  19. Yeah, no. Like I said, it's at best, condoning homophobia. Period. Which is in fact hateful and ignorant. Period. He has the freedom to be ignorant and hateful (within the law). I have the freedom to state that his actions are ignorant and hateful.
  20. Hate, ignorance, intolerance, bigotry, misogyny etc hiding behind any religion is bad mmmkay. Is Provorov Muslim?
