  1. How about @alfstonker and @SilentSam take the WD argument which has been full of hearsay and ignorance with a nice side of pissy-douche to either a WD thread or even better, PM?
  2. If my wish comes true.. Trade Tanev and Baer for Domi and a pick allowing us to protect Sbisa, Granlund and Hansen. Sedin, Sedin, Hansen Domi, Horvat, Boeser Granlund, Sutter, Eriksson ??? , Chaput, Dorsett (First 3 lines basically equal) Edler, Stetcher Hutton, Gudbranson Sbisa, Tryamkin *drool*
  3. I agree, he should be. Hopefully sheltered in a 2/3rd line role.
  4. Never mind that I don't 'expect' Juolevi to be the next Lidstrom anyway lol.
  5. Why is it 'silly'? He plays a very similar style/has a similar tool box/demeanor as Lidstrom. Lidstrom wasn't Lidstrom either until he became Lidstrom. The only reason people think it's 'silly' is because Lidstrom ended up surprising EVERYONE and FAR exceeding expectations. Why is it impossible or 'silly' to think that Juolevi could do the same/similar with a similar tool box? Is it likely? Absolutely not. Is it 'silly'? Nope. Like it or not, that is his ceiling though, as unlikely as he might be to reach it.
  6. You would be wise to note that as far as I saw, we all said he's far, FAR more likely to fall short of that lofty ceiling. Since you're such a fan of quotes, perhaps you can show us were someone posted that we thought was he was for sure, or even likely to be Lidstrom 2.0?
  7. What could have been...*sigh* Don't know if he had interest in coming here though.
  8. Sounds like that teaching opportunity had the desired effect. Now he needs to work on doing it consistently.
  9. But Horvat isn't remotely like Gretzky. Monahan's a bit closer but still not really a direct comparable. Lidstrom and Maatta are in fact 'comparables' to OJ. Though I think he'll (unsurprisingly) fall short of the first but ahead of the latter.
  10. It's pretty much been my assessment from the start. If he exceeds expectations, we get Lidstrom 2.0 or a close approximation. If he doesn't meet them, we get a solid #4 guy. I most likely think we end up with a solid, complimentary #2 D who's better than Tanev but not quite the #1 we'd all love to have.
  11. IMO Maatta = basement, Lidstrom = ceiling. Likely he falls somewhere in the middle.
  12. Clearly. I mean every centre they've ever developed is exactly like Horvat, right?
  13. Crappy. They're talking possible amputation.
  14. And if we lose none of those guys? I don't see him cracking our top 6 and if he's not in the top 6, he's better off in Junior.
  15. We don't really have space/need for him on the roster next year anyway with Boeser coming in. By all means short of coming to camp kicking arse and taking names, he should be down in Utica with the influx of talent they'll be getting next year and learning to dominate off the foundation he builds this year. Likely first call up for injuries.
  16. That's it, trade him!
  17. I also thought that was weird. It would take some pretty drastic changes to even make room for him next year. I'd rather he go back to London, gain strength, maybe join Utica next spring for a playoff run and see where he's at the following fall.
  18. As much as this will likely rile up and annoy the 'Bust crowd', Jake needs some of these 'failure' moments to really let these lessons sink in. We all learn best when we @#$% up and there's consequences Yes, ideally Jake would have learned this stuff 2-3 years ago. He didn't. He's learning it now. We deal with the realities we're presented with.
