  1. Those players didn't make the team boring. They're some of the few things keeping it from being even worse. They'll also still be around supporting the next core. Don't worry, more drafting is coming.
  2. Yet people keep fretting about how we have NO forward prospects... Patience @LaBamba, it's coming.
  3. That's pretty much going to be him. He may never be more than a 25-30 point D in the NHL but he'll be the 4th back guy that started the play that led to the goal. A lot.
  4. 2nd and 3rd lines if I recall. Been a while though
  5. Does it really matter much what Tkachuck may or may not have done here, on this team, this year? I'm more concerned with who will be better 3+ years from now.
  6. Sadly, we can't draft ALL the players
  7. IMO, he needs complimentary style (North/South, counter punching, tenacious puck pursuit, fast, big) players with enough talent and experience to bury rebounds etc he creates. (As Baggins mentioned elsewhere yesterday, he could also stand to use his wingers more. particularly on the rush). Sedin, Sedin, Sutter/Hansen Baer, Granlund, Eriksson Virtanen, Horvat, Hansen/Sutter Burr, Gaunce, Dorsett Though swapping the 2nd/3rd RW's could be an occasional experiment as well to give those two lines different looks and more of a mix of play makers/shooters.
  8. Yup, with Horvat and either Hansen or Sutter. Sedin, Sedin, Sutter/Hansen Baer, Granlund, Eriksson Virtanen, Horvat, Hansen/Sutter Burr, Gaunce, Dorsett
  9. There you go. Injury and a back to back game and he's in.
  10. If his conditioning was up to par, they probably would have loved to put him in vs LAK and/or ANA. It wasn't. Now that it apparently is, he'll likely only see time with an injury to Sbisa or Gudbranson or against bigger teams where he'd be more beneficial. My guess is they've got him penciled in against NYR on Tues. which is also the 2nd of a back to back. So he'll be able to fill in for some tired legs and help out against a larger team.
  11. Sending a cold Tryamkin out there against the best team in the league who is also VERY fast was not going to get us a W in this game guys....
  12. Makes sense for us but not WPG. They want a left D coming back.

    Anton Rodin | RW/LW

Panarin would likely be the closest parallel to your parameters there. Though I think he was 24 and came to a much better Blackhwaks team and came from the KHL, not SEL. But he'd be the high, HIGH watermark of what any of us could even possibly hope for. Even if Rodin's only ~1/2 as good, you call that a win IMO. But there's still plenty of chance he amounts to little/nothing as an NHL'er. He really couldn't be more of a wildcard.
  14. I'd be hesitant to offer BUF Sbisa and our 2nd for Kane let alone Tanev.

He's been looking for that since like last spring. We have an ever increasing logjam on D and a lack of quality forward prospects. That is not 'rash'.
  16. Maybe later this season at the TDL you'll get to play there on the regular Burr
  17. Next year's doesn't have a ton of top flight offensive players or 'generational' McDavid's etc but it is fairly rich in D and two way guys. Just not a ton of 'wow' guys but you need those other guys to win too. They do certainly need a LD but they also could use a guy who highly limits opposition chances, moves the puck well and could be a stable, veteran presence IMO. And let's face it, Bogosian, so far, has been a disappointment (and more of a health/injury concern than Tanev frankly). In a Tanev acquisition scenario, I'm assuming they'd move him in a separate deal. Maybe for a top 4 left D. Or perhaps we also throw in one of our young left D as a potential guy for them too. Doubt they'd want Sbisa but him and Tanev would actually make a pretty solid shut down pair IMO. But we also have Pedan, Brisebois etc. Brisebois could be intriguing for BUF actually. Still likely 1-2 years away but he's got the pedigree IMO.
  18. I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers but Cap Friendly has us sitting at $952,013 today and that's with a bunch of guys on IR and call ups eating additional space. Besides, I'm not talking about taking on a high priced guy. IMO we'd make a move for a prospect/ELC NHL'er. And realistically neither guy are likely to be moved until closer to the TDL at the earliest and more likely the summer ahead of the draft. If at all. Edler might not be until the 2019 TDL. And our TDL cap space is currently projected to be $3,784,253 FWIW. And that';s without moving any expiring vets at the TDL like Miller, Burr etc. As for Kane, I'd be happy to take him on at a reasonable cost but that's way less than Tanev IMO. Too much risk with him and frankly we've got a younger, cheaper, albeit undeveloped version of him already in Virtanen. And he's without all the douchey/borderline criminal behaviour baggage.
  19. Offense doesn't just come from forwards
  20. We already started the season better than that. But yeah, Juolevi with another stud would be great. Him and Stetcher could be alright down the line though or perhaps Tryamkin on his off side if he develops well. We'll see what happens
  21. Even if for Tanev, a 1st (10-15th?) and say one of Rodin/Baer/Granlund...? And not now (especially with Eichel out). Either later this year or in the summer ahead of the draft.
  22. All it takes is Baer to start potting some of his chances and Eriksson to get going (after a not uncommon for him slow start) and all of a sudden we're winning those 2-1 and 3-2 games instead of losing them. All of a sudden we're a mid pack 10-20 team again. Rodin could be a wild card with that too. Though I do agree/think they need to shuffle the lineup.
