  1. One of those situations where it would be nice for Aqualini to 'grease the wheels'
  2. Mitchell and before him, Ohlund are probably the closest comparables.
  3. Not saying it can't happen, just not counting on it I think he'll likely end up comfortably in the 80-90 range and if he ends up 95+, well
  4. We need to trade/draft/sign a young, future 1C in the next ~year from somewhere and we should be ok IMO. Easier said than done of course
  5. It's not about usurping Hansen. Hansen is 30, going on 31 next year. I LOVES me some Honeybadger but he's not the future of the club.
  6. While I doubt he continues on at quite that blistering pace...anyone have any idea what sophomore records are for NCHC? Tried googling and couldn't get anything. I still think we heavily explore packaging one of Granlund, Baer or Rodin with say Tanev and our 1st this year for a young, somewhat buried future 1C. Realistically there isn't room for all 3 in the lineup especially with Boesser coming next year, the addition of Eriksson and Virt looming. As much as it pains me to say it, I think we expose Hansen.
  7. In fairness to Sbisa, he took a bit of a beating last night. Tends to affect your play/decision making/ability. Wouldn't mind seeing Try sub in against BUF and one of the LAK/ANA games and give Sbisa a few days to heal up some likely bruised bits.
  8. If he turns out to be even half the player offensively as Naslund while also playing a solid 2 way game....WIN
  9. Man there's been very little in theatres or on Bluray/Netflix lately of seemingly any quality. Where all the good movies at?! Thank Gordie for Boardwalk Empire! Started Season 4 last night and have yet to be disappointed!
  10. We need to make them available. Doesn't mean we will lose them.
  11. I bet they expose Hansen and trade one of Baer, Granlund or Rodin.
  12. My counts might be off but I though Hansen would satisfy that requirement (as much as I love Hansen, he's not the future).
  13. I think we may be more likely to make a move for a 19-22'ish C prospect who might be stuck behind depth than just move up in the draft personally but we'll see what happens.

    Anton Rodin | RW/LW

If I recall, they can place players on LTIR retroactively if they reach the threshold to realize any benefits. Until then, there's no benefit and if he's ready and/or needed before then, they wouldn't be able to use him.
  15. Any of Calgary, Columbus, Arizona, Buffalo, Colorado, New Jersey, Carolina would be most obvious possibilities. I'd also not be surprised at at least a couple of LA, Anaheim, San Jose or Dallas taking big dips this year, Dallas especially with all their injuries, questionable goaltending and D and general loss of depth. Relatively healthy, we're likely battling with all the other mediocre teams in our division for a wildcard spot or just out of the playoffs and picking 10-15 IMO.
  16. Not disagreeing with your overall post or premise but Hutton really only 'slumped' when the team was devastated with injuries and he was forced playing over his head in the top 4 and I'm pretty sure with a partner who was in a similar situation (was it Biega...?). Not to mention the state of the forward group surrounding him either. Gordie that was an awful mess. It'd be pretty tough for even a seasoned NHL'er to not 'slump' in that situation, let alone a green rookie.
  17. By that point, Tryamkin might take Edler's spot. Hopefully he's beyond 3rd pairing 2 years from now anyway. Of course Juolevi may have progressed beyond 3rd pair at that point as well. We may end up having to move a young guy too in a few years just to get deserved guys top 4 time (and slot Pedan in to a permanent 3rd pair role by that point). Perhaps in ~3+ years it looks like: Hutton, Gudbranson Juolevi, Tryamkin Pedan, Stetcher Brisebois, Subban Though that may short change Stetcher on 3rd pairing... Well in fairness, I did say Tanev + our 2017 1st. Might need to sweeten that further with a prospect or something but you'd think Tanev and a likely high/mid 1st would go a long way towards that goal.
  18. If this was directed at me, I was speaking of this spring, not next fall FWIW. If not, carry on (and I agree)
  19. I just think that if the Canucks are scuffling he'd gain more from a long Calder run in Utica, in less of a fish bowl than playing meaningless games up here. Ease him in to the pro game more and against lesser competition as well. Besides, all he'd do here would possibly bump our pick down a bit at that point
  20. Probably depend more on who's doing well/would benefit more. If the Canucks are clearly out of the playoffs and Utica is in the hunt (as they should be), he goes to Utica IMO. If Canucks are in/near playoffs, they might bring him in here.
  21. Move Tanev and our 2017 first for our future 1C, play Tryamkin on the right. Hutton, Gudbranson Edler, Stetcher Juolevi, Tryamkin Pedan, whoever steps up.
