  1. I can compare ketchup to pig crap. That doesn't make it a worthwhile intellectual exercise.
  2. Was a silly comparison then, still silly now. They may share some thematic elements etc but they're quite clearly different. At least to those of us with any time around little kids. It's like comparing an Archie comic to the darker, more young adult oriented 'graphic novels'. 'Parental guidance' and 'children' are both very ambiguous FWIW. I'd almost let my near 4 year olds watch HP1, not even close with LOTR.
  3. I hate when the pull tab on my pants zipper decides to stand up and then proceeds to stab the underside of my junk when I go to shake. Mother-$#@%'er!
  4. Sure but 'kids' is a pretty broad age range of 0-18'ish. Plus Tolkien didn't have CGI and DTS HD.
  5. I'd let my almost 4 year olds watch the first HP in the next couple years. LOTR...not so much.
  6. Silly comparison then. Silly comparison now IMO.
  7. He wouldn't be a Canuck prospect without a CDC 'bust' meltdown at some point
  8. Haven't watched that in years...hope it doesn't go that way for me. that movie.
  9. Yeah it's a bit odd that anyone would compare HP, GOT and LOTR Sure they all exist in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy realm but they're VERY different and for very different audiences. As for HP, you have to keep in mind the books/characters/films grow with each other. The first few books/movies are not going to be all that enthralling to the average adult. Largely they're little kid to young adult stories as the series progresses. #context. I liked Half blood too @GLASSJAW A better comparison will likely be to the upcoming Miss Peregrine's movies/books. Though they start off as young adult, so they're likely already more relate-able for adults right off the bat. Especially vs the early HP.

Skill set and that neither is head and shoulders better than the other. Gaunce = more polished, Virtanen = more dynamic and a more needed skill set. They very well might both be in the A.

Still say he's first call up from Utica this year unless he clearly leap frogs all of Virtanen, Rodin and Burrows. That said, I agree he's a keeper.
  12. Never heard of the the movie or either of those actors, so I've got you beat GJ.
  13. Watched Mad Max last night...maybe I wasn't in the right mood but I don't get the hype. Seemed a pretty straight forward example of the genre. Entertaining enough in that context but hardly mind blowing. 6.5/10

I don't think one has anything to do with the other. I also think that barring him out playing all of Virtanen, Rodin and Burrows, he's likely in Utica.
  15. By all means, I expect him back in London. I was merely commenting on his play style.
  16. Clearly hasn't seen or read about how Juolevi plays. Elusive.

People's expectations for him have been nutty IMO. People penciling him in the top 6....
  18. A bit off colour for sure but I won't neg ya. Wrap the kid in bubble wrap FTW!
  19. Pretty sure we could still loan him to a Euro league.
  20. Some of us definitely had him at 5 despite the constant berating on here.
  21. Clearly needed an Oxford comma in there somewhere

Not by a ton it won't. They've stated their plan is to roll 4 lines as often as possible. I say again. One offensive line = easily shut down.
