  1. So you don't see the contradiction there....?
  2. Which brings me back to...
  3. '...lead to a similar result'... of what? They're both at the point in their careers where they're straddling the AHL/NHL as depth guys. I'm not really sure what you're expecting them to show...?
  4. Neither Pedan or Gaunce were remotely instrumental in what did/didn't happen this year. Our what, ~#10/11D this year and ~15th forward were instrumental in our 'tank'? Come on They're pretty much where any sane, patient person would expect them to be in their development as well.
  5. Or give it to his partner
  6. Pedan just needs more time to polish his game. He's also not projected to be a top 4 and is only 22. In a few years he'll be solid 5-7 guy IMO. Until then, he'll do whatever it takes to stay in the NHL (including occasionally playing forward) and give himself the opportunity to polish his game with NHL coaches, trainers, dietitians etc against NHL players and with an NHL salary. Patience.
  7. Pedan is still a bit rough around the edges compared to Tryamkin.
  8. 'Expected' and 'wanted' are not the same thing Agreed.
  9. We are discussing the potential of what effect him turning pro might have on the lineup. I could easily seem him on a third with Horvat. The other winger will depend a LOT on if we sign a UFA, how Rodin shows etc.
  10. Hopefully with some of his 'edge' but less of his 'over the edge'. That guy could be a right arsehole.
  11. Training in Van...nice to hear
  12. Well than I disagree. I like Shink a LOT, he's got a great energy and clearly loves the game but he's a long way off of a full time NHL gig IMO. Still lots of holes in his game. Boesser is far closer IMO.
  13. McCann's likely headed to Utica next year. I'd still put him ahead of Shinkaruk. If we were to draft Laine this year would Shinkaruk still be 'more NHL ready' because he has a couple years of pro experience...?
  14. I think you're being a bit black and white simply based on Shinkaruk having played a couple seasons of pro. That's circumstance and nothing more. It doesn't speak to him having additional ability or more NHL readiness. If that's you're only criteria, Gaunce is more NHL ready than Shink anyway. So no, Shink wasn't our best NHL ready prospect. And that doesn't even count guys like Horvat, McCann, Virtanen, Hutton, Tryamkin etc Boesser hasn't committed to anything yet FYI.
  15. Boesser has a more complete game and better size and has been playing in a pretty comparable quality league to far more success. I'd tend to agree that he's likely more NHL ready. You're confusing the lack of opportunity to skill/ability.
  16. For sure, that's why I could see him splitting 2nd line duties with Baer. Baer on that line would also give Hansen and Sutter more of a playmaker to set them up. It will likely depend on who we're playing as well and whether we want that line to check, bang and crash more or to play more of an offensive role.
  17. I'm saying they're a LOT closer than you're giving credit for.
  18. He's 19. 19 year old kids tend to be a bit inconsistent.
  19. There's a lot of 23-26 year old guys as well... It's pretty clear you don't know what you're talking about.
  20. Plus can you imagine how little fun it would be to play against a Virtanen, Sutter, Hansen line?!?! That's three tenacious, fast skating, hard hitting, board battling, puck firing North/South guys. That's a freaking nightmare IMO
  21. We could the way I have them too... but you also put less pressure on Rodin/Boesser who (especially Rodin IMO) are not likely to step in to the league as a top 6 player. Rodin, if he's even good enough at all, will likely be a 2nd/3rd line, 30+ point 'tweener'. He's not a guy I put on the 2nd over Hansen. Boesser, if he goes pro, I could see maybe evolving in to a 2nd liner by the second half but I sure as @#$% wouldn't be starting him there.
  22. It was off for a few weeks though, wasn't it?
  23. Well clearly, you're drunk Maybe in 2-3 years you can say that.
  24. Possibly... I could easily see him beat out Rodin for a spot though.
