  1. Andrew Copp with his 4 goals last night made some woman in Wpg. $100,000 richer in the Save-On-Foods Million Dollar Score and Win contest! So there's that!
  2. Congrats to Cap, 300 points, 133-167—300 in 481 GP Only 10 players who debuted with the Canucks required fewer games to hit the milestone (all w/ VAN), with Daniel Sedin (472 GP) and Henrik Sedin (479 GP) the last to do.
  3. Conservatives still refuse to acknowledge climate change. On Saturday, Conservative Party delegates voted by a margin of 54% to 46% to reject a policy that would add the statement "climate change is real" to the party's policy book, and recognize that "Canadian businesses classified as highly polluting need to take more responsibility." The vote came just hours after Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole told delegates that the party "cannot ignore the reality of climate change."
  4. I'm not sure why Hoglander isn't used in the overtime 3 on 3. He seems to have the speed and energy to beat guys one on one with all that open ice!
  5. Some big news here, possible FM all sports format MORE HERE https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/next-steps-tsn-1040-broadcasters-fm-station-considers-all-sports A new all-sports FM station? One Vancouver FM station is rumoured to be considering flipping formats to all-sports, and could be interested in some of the properties mentioned above. The station is said to be in discussions with the CRTC on how that would work. The ownership group has also had discussions with many former 1040 employees, including Marjanovich, gauging their interest if a flip happens. Other names mentioned to me as having had at least a discussion with the station include Taylor, David Pratt, Matt Sekeres, Iain McLetchie, and Dave Sheldon. The CRTC would need likely need to approve the new format before the station could make any big offers to anyone. What about Sportsnet 650? Speaking of all-sports radio stations, Sportsnet 650 has remained relatively quiet through the departure of TSN 1040. Many sports radio fans may have thought a wave of 1040 personalities might head over to Sportsnet, but so far that hasn’t been the case. While nothing is immediate, I’ve been told by numerous sources that Sportsnet 650 could make some changes coming up in September. A number of hosts are on contracts that are set to expire later this year after signing four-year deals when the station launched in September of 2017. With talent available, Sportsnet could choose alter its lineup to start the important fall ratings guide. The names I have heard mentioned most in connection to Sportsnet 650 are Mike Halford and Jason Brough, who made up the TSN 1040 morning show. If any changes are made, don’t expect them to be made until after the end of the Canucks season at the earliest.
  6. Produced by Oh Boy Production Studios in Vancouver, Donnie and Dhali – The Team will air from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday to Friday on CHEK. 7. Elliotte Friedman already signed up as guest contributor!
  8. Two storied sports journalists will be returning to the airwaves next month on B.C.’s only independent, employee-owned TV station. Don Taylor and Rick Dhaliwal are set to debut their new sports variety show, Donnie and Dhali – The Team, April 5 on CHEK. The pair, along with producer Ryan Henderson, are well-known from their former radio show on TSN/Team 1040, a station that suddenly shuttered last month. “When TSN 1040 closed, a lot of fans were very disappointed. And so were we,” says Taylor. “The fact CHEK is an independent, local, employee-owned station, made our decision to join them a no-brainer. Fans in the Lower Mainland, Victoria and throughout Vancouver Island are going to have a relevant show that reflects them.” Produced by Oh Boy Production Studios in Vancouver, Donnie and Dhali – The Team will air from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday to Friday on CHEK.
