The Jays are in a real tough division with
Yankees
Red Sox
TB Rays
The Jays have a good team, but I am not a big fan of Manager John Gibbons.
The Manager in Baseball has more control of what happens on the field than a coach in any other sport.
He calls pitches, defence, hit and runs, bunts, base stealing, makes lineup, batting order, pitching changes,
pinch hitters, etc.,etc.
The game and team is completely controlled by the Manager!
A Manager can be responsible for wins in at least 15- 20 games with good decisions in games, by the
same token he can cost a team 15-20 games with poor decisions.
So at the end of a season if a team is 8 games out of 1st, you could look at some decisions made by the manager during the season.
I think Gibbons is the weakest part of their lineup.
If he proves me wrong then I could possibly see a wildcard.
