Lou's recapture penalty if he retires early, He would have this even if he was still a Canuck -

I heard on the radio this morning that Lou is starting tonight in PHO If it is true and these 2 points are so essential, why isn't Lack starting if he gives us the best chance to win? The logical starts if Lack is the hot hand and gives us the best chance to win is Lou would have played OTT. and the 4 pointer against PHO. goes to Lack. The Heritage Classic start is puzzling to say the least It looks as tho 92 points might secure a wildcard now which means 13-6 to finish the season IMO we are done but I would think Torts thinks differently

Elvis, if Richards was demoted down the lineup and finally scratched in the playoffs because of poor production, Then why?? wouldn't Burrows and Daniel be getting the same, Even Torts stated much later that he regretted doing that to Richards, as I am now sure he has the same regret over Lou! I feel he learned nothing from disrespecting a key, veteran player on the team. Should we expect another "I'm sorry" presser soon.

This is no suprise, It's all coming true, Here is a story from 2013 when he was fired as the Ranger Head Coach, http://www.thehockey...-NHL-coach.html "All the evidence you need to confirm Tortorella is a relic can be found in the failings of his former New York Rangers team during the Blueshirts’ second round series loss to Boston. The Rangers lineup was significantly re-jigged by GM Glen Sather at the trade deadline, but Tortorella’s charges couldn’t conjure up any more offense against the Bruins than they were able to before the trade deadline. And what did Tortorella do for a strategic answer toward the end of the series? He made former Conn Smythe winner Brad Richards (with whom he’d won a Cup in Tampa Bay) a healthy scratch for the final two games of his career as Rangers coach. He humiliated one of the game’s most accomplished veterans and doubled down on an offense designed entirely around the defensive skills of goalie Henrik Lundqvist. And the sum total of those efforts didn’t make a lick of difference against a clearly superior Bruins squad. When Rangers GM Glen Sather fired Tortorella days after the Blueshirts were eliminated, few were surprised – especially NHLers who have endured his tough-guy routine in previous years. “Very knowledgeable coach, bad manager of personnel,” one former Tortorella player told THN after the Rangers fired him May 29. “All players are motivated differently, none by disrespect, and when the players smell the phoniness, the coach loses the team.” Nevertheless, that doesn’t excuse Tortorella’s sub-par job in Manhattan. Some NHL team probably will give him another coaching job, but those who do should have no illusions as to what they’re getting. Tortorella’s presence may work in the short term, but the longer you leave him in the position the more he is exposed as a dinosaur, his Jurassic snark a form of three-card monte street hustle fewer and fewer players fall for anymore. There’s a reason why Mike Keenan, another famous Cup-winning bench boss with a hard-ass style, has likely coached his final NHL game and will work in Russia next season. The Grumpus Emeritus approach favored by Tortorella and Keenan is best left to hockey anthropologists, not active head coaches."

Mackcanuck replied to Drouin's topic in Canucks Talk
Gillis has no input into who is the starting goalie, This is all on Torts, Obviously he has zero confidence in Lou to win the game. This guy is crazier than Keenan He can setup another Apologize press conference for tomorrow. -

Great post! Have you heard the term players like these don't fall off trees. Well they are now available Kesler- 1st line Center on Olympic Team USA - 6'2" 210lb, best 2nd line center in the entire league -Scores goals, prevents goals, faceoffs, hits, fights,PP,PK the complete package - Outstanding contract at 29yrs old that would give a team 3 playoffs where he is even more valuable Edler - top 2 D-Man on Olympic Team Sweden - 6'4" 215 lbs, High Skill, PP,PK, Hits, scores - 27 yrs old, outstanding contract at $5M/yr until 2019 These guys are not 36yr old UFA rentals, They are elite players that have fallen out of a tree if a team is ready to move elite prospects that will be ready in 1-2 seasons for a chance to go big Gillis should get outstanding value for these 2 players or tell the bidding teams to pound sand!

If a team wants Edler, they want him as a top 2 D-Man Olympic Team Sweden had him in their top pairing with Ottawa's Karlsson He is 27 yrs old just hitting his prime On a contending team he would be a stud Defenseman His contract is an extremely cap friendly $5M signed thru 2019 A team needing Edler will have to pay a huge package to get him or no freaking deal Please do not undervalue Edler,

We must win 3 of the 4 games before the trade deadline to have a hope of getting a wildcard. Daniel and Burrows must break out of their slumps and start consistently scoring. The Blues are difficult to score on so tomorrow would be a good game for those 2 to step up and get the team going. Just score some freaking goals!

@FarhanLaljiTSN: RT @dfeschuk: 3 of 4 officials for the gold-medal game are CDN, the 4th is Calgarian. Peter Forsberg calls it "a (bleeping) joke."
