Lol. No he wasn’t Alf. Larger ice yeah, but not lesser competitors. And this kid NHL ready, and within a year, probably one of the best in the league. It sucks we we didn’t get him, but I’m damn excited to watch this kid play hockey. Dahlin is going to be amazing.

The homerism is getting carried away here. The first clip was a major blunder that would have lead to a great chance against. The second one he would have gotten either creamed or rubbed out. And if not, it was still a weak flubbed shot. Lets try to be realistic at least. The kid is an amazing prospect and will make the team sooner than later. BUT He is far from perfect, and is known to take too many sketchy chances with the puck. His hot dogging around the ice won’t fly in the NHL. There will be major changes to his playing style when he hits the bigs, or he will end up as another Subban. Luckily for us, his smarts and IQ say he is more than likely to figure it out. Lets just cool it on the kid tho.

I call BS. This has nothing to do with being a jerk or having a bad attitude. Seeing as this was a couple years ago, it is pretty obvious this was about him learning how much effort he has to put in to being a pro. You are are making up your own story with snippets of info.

Two different players, two different injuries, two different surgeries. Why would they have the same heal time and results? It doesn’t work like that. No. You don’t go trading a 20 year old all star like Boeser, especially after he is proving he is fine. No it doesn’t. His value has absolutely nothing to do with any other player. Why do you come up with this stuff? All of it is just silly.

Nothing more sexual than two 18 year old boys putting jerseys on........ ewwwww
-
No he isn’t. Cut the shtick Alf.

This thread is a terrible idea. There is a reason why RD has been touted as the #1 pick in this draft for 3 years. He is a generational player. Hughes is great, but it is a jerk move to compare the two. It’s just not fair to Hughes. Shot, power, d game, o game, size, hitting, etc..... They just aren’t at the same level. This is kind of thread is why people trash talk Canucks fans.

Where is all this trade talk coming from? I would be heart broken if we traded him. With all this junk going on with the league getting smaller and faster, Jake is exactly what I want to see. A big dude, who can hit like a truck, and is just as fast as the little fellas. In a couple years, Jake is going to be an absolute beast who can pot you 20 goals, kill penalties, and can blow up the crowd with a massive hit or wicked snipe show. He will be the perfect 2nd, 3rd line guy.

Lol. There is no way Boeser would be looking for anything like Bo’s deal. He will be easily getting 6+ If he wait until next offseason, and puts up numbers like last year or better, he is getting 7+

Not really. Not the greatest shots for sure, but much better than Hughes. I’m not trying to put the kid down. Not everybody has a perfect set of tools.
-
You were right tho. The kid has a child’s shot. It will get better, but it is weak as can be at this point. It was a pretty big standout for me watching all his highlight videos

I dunno Alf. You know all those fancy dangles and moves that Hughes has? Dahlin has them too. He is elite is almost all categories. He is electrifying to watch. Hughes will be good, but Dahlin is incredible. There is a reason why he has been touted as the obvious #1 overall for like 2-3 years. Not trying to take anything away from Hughes.

Drafting guys with little man syndrome doesn’t actually do anything for the grit, so take out Madden. Tryamkin is under contract in Russia for 2 more years, and might not even come back. So he comes off that list. Brassard, Gunnarson are both big long shots to ever make the NHL, so they aren’t on the list. The only real possibility of being a quality grit play is Gadjovich. I understand the Hughes pick. He is a wizard in skates. But JB completely wasted 2 picks IMO. We are drafting too small. For years we have been bullied and pushed around. Sure the league is changing a bit, but that doesn’t mean trade your helmets for troll hair. People talk like soon the NHL will be all 5’8” 160lbs players.

His skating and vision are exceptional. I’m a little concerned about his shot though. It is pretty poohish.

Who give a crap what his dad played like or is built like? this kid is built like his mom. 40 pounds of muscle is an insane amount. Yeah he is only 18, but that is still a hell of a lot of weight to put on. Anyway, I’m not going to bash the kid I know nothing about. I just don’t like his frame.
-
I understand the evolution of the game, and know we need to keep up with it, but personally, I don’t want to watch a bunch of dwarfs skate around super fast. Hockey is a tough game and that is the kinda game I like to watch. You want a weak game, go watch soccer.

This kid can’t see the top of the fence
-
I’m not gonna drink it!
-
Hahaha. Love me some Scott Stevens. Lol Ill watch those, while people drink the shrimp player koolaid and watch tiny toon adventures
-
Hahaha. Get real. What a waste of a pick. 20 years old. 5’7” 139lbs.
-
Fair enough. I really don’t know much about him other that what I’ve started reading today. 150lbs is just so damn small. I just don’t really like small players. And yayyaya the league is getting smaller and faster. Sure. I just don’t really care. I prefer old school, big nasty hockey.
-
Maybe he will. Someone with a 150lbs frame at 17-18 is probably going to stay a pretty slender person. Even 30 pounds is a butt load to ask for. People were crying about Petterson needing to gain 10-15 This is kid needs 30-40
-
His dad played at 190-200 tho. Adding 40-50 pounds probably won’t happen.
-
He will when everyone else around him is 190-210 muscle
