  1. I didn't say he would be successful. I said I hope he is. Hahah. I make a negative post and people like it. I try to be positive about a prospect, and all the complainers come out. CDC. What a place
  2. I agree with most of your post, and before the preseason, I would have said the same thing. But we are lacking his skill set. He did light up the SEL. We really can't score goals, and he has proven he can. Taking off our negative pants, he actually did have a decent preseason and showed some good offensive flashes. He isn't going to be our saviour, but he can help.
  3. I'll admit, I really didn't think Rodin was gonna do anything in Vancouver but fizzle and go back to Sweden(he still might), but after his preseason, I'm more optimistic he can make an impact. With the news of JB searching for a top 6 scorer, I hope Rodin can come back soon and atleast get a fair shot to be that guy. So early in the season, why start making trades when you don't even know what you have yet? do we have anupdated timeline for his return yet?
  4. What is his defensive game like? He will do fine with getting points, but players don't get minutes with crap d play. Is he pretty decent with out the puck, back check etc,,,,,?
  5. You're crazy man. He will be on the team next season. No way he does 2 more years of JR, let alone another 3-4 years in the A after that. Hahahahah
  6. In a disgusting way, that's a great idea.
  7. Holy cow. That was incredible alf.
  8. People have a hard time judging musicians. Especially when you are talking about such high quality. I believe that Les' incredible combo of writing ability, stage presence, diversity, singing, and of course bass skills, make him by far the best. I'm not even a big Primus fan, but if I'm putting together an Allstar super band, I'm picking Les. Les (being the best) gets asked a lot who he thinks is the best. He always says Geddy Lee. Even the best thinks there is a best.
  9. Your opinion. Mine is Les Claypool. I've played with hundreds of musicians over the years, and some INCREDIBLE bass players. people with skill like Claypool are one in a million. He is on his own level.
  10. default is terrible. Lol im sure if you really looked into it, you could figure it out, but really, who cares. Fill in/ studio drummer dude. I'm like the auxiliary cop of punk/metal. I can wear the uniform, but I don't get a gun.
  11. I posted a Tommy the Cat vid a couple pages ago in this thread. What an amazing song. Les is the man. Best bass player in the world. Easily. It is weird that such a smart group of people like Cabinessence and his imaginary friends didn't put it up there, but he did put Mcartney in there. Paul I suck at bass Mcartney.
  12. I like the first two lines. That third is absolutely terrible and would be garbage for Bo's development. He needs linemates to help him grow. Not two guys that will hold him back. I'd rather see burrows on the third with Bo and maybe Virt or a trade with them.
  13. In all the videos they post with him, he looks pretty pudgy. Even in the new one with him playing Pokemon, he looks a little 'thick'. I hope he is taking this summer totally seriously and comes in great shape.
  14. Pretty much my thoughts too. Stats say the league is getting smaller. Thats only because the 6'4, 250lbs goon is gone from the game. For the next couple years, I could see it looking like the league is going smaller, until the fighters are all gone. Then we see a slow rise back up because with the new training, nutrition knowledge, etc..... Kids are going to be bigger. Guys are gonna weigh more. Bigger, faster, stronger.
  15. Damn, he could have been an amazing player for us if it wasn't for all those injuries........
  16. Well there you go. Lol. The article I read on the oilers page bashed his play big time, then said they didn't qualify him. Maybe it meant to say didn't sign his qualifying offer. Either way, he was hot garbage and couldn't cut it in the NHL at the time. I hope he fixed the shortcomings tho. Id be stoked to finally see a true offensive dman on our team. It's been a long time.
  17. Haha. No kidding eh? He prob thinks he shoots like stamkos.
  18. I agree with most of what you are saying. Personally, I'm not a fan of one dimensional players. That's why I said I hope he has picked up his defensive game. If Tryamkin can really play a solid shutdown role, I'd be fine with Larsen going out and doing his own thing on that pairing. It's a safer move to stick with Sbisa, who is really starting to get his game together. For the most part tho, I agree with you J.R i was more arguing about not wanting to trade Tanev or Edler to make a spot for Larsen. That is just silly. It is Sbisa or Tryamkin who will be fighting with Larsen for that spot. And because of Tryamkins contract out to go back to Russia, it is mostly Sbisa who has to worry. At the end of last season, Sbisa was arguably our best Dman. If he continues that run, do you think Larsen will take his place?
  19. I don't blame him either, but you can't ignore the fact that he was bad enough that he couldn't get a contract from Edmonton. They suck that bad, and they didn't want him. He couldn't make them any better. Again, let's hope he turned that around.
  20. I was foggy remembering his situation and why he left Edmonton. So i researched it. He played like pooh. His best part of the season he was playing on the wing. Total defensive liability. They weren't going to qualify him, so he took his half deflated ball and went home. I really hope he fixed his game and works out for us, but I don't want to put our eggs in his basket and look silly.
  21. I've been a Canucks fan since I was a baby. I'm 30 in a month. So I have been watching for a couple years. I played until Midget. I have a general idea of the game. Lol. I agree with those two as our top 2 we are in trouble. I agree we have a log jam. I disagree with your solution to the problem tho. I wouldent trade Tanev just to make room. Id trade him as a package for an upgrade tho. Edler gets a bad rap, but he is a great dman. Just not a 1 or 2. I would trade him if possible, but again, not to make room for Larsen (who needs to prove he is an NHL dman) but to package for something better. I understand and what you are getting at, but I can't agree. Lol.
  22. So would I dumdum. But I'm not an NHL player so your comment is stupid.
  23. Edmonton chose not to qualify him, so he signed in Russia. He was a huge liability on the blue line. Just like he will be here. I think offensively, he has all the skills needed to be a great pp quarterback. I also believe our defence sucked so bad last year, that trading away our best defensive Dman in Tanev to make a spot for a guy who can't play D, is just plain stupid. Maybe you try to clear one of 5 or 6 to make room. But that's still a maybe. You don't trade a top 2 to make room for a 6.
