Oh yeah! It was actually going so poorly, the government called up Elvis and paid him to help promote it. Hahaha. Thanks for that Alf
-
Hahahah No Alf it wasn’t. They started making jt in the 30s and people kept refusing to take it because of being untested properly and having lots of side affects. Sounds familiar eh? It wasn’t until the 50’s that it really caught on and Polio was pretty well eradicated. And even then, there was something like 30 million doses administered that were proven to be contaminated. No wonder people are hesitant to take this one. Also, it’s Joe Rogan. Not Seth. Seth is the funny but weaselish actor. And if you listened to his show, you’d know he tells people to get the vaccine. But you wouldn’t know that because you don’t listen to the show, you like to take snippets of what other dummies say, then repeat it.
-
Agreed. My brother has turned into one of these jackasses. I don’t agree with his stupid choices. I think they are selfish. But I stand by him getting to make his own choice 100%, whether I think his decision makes him a jerk or not.
-
What in history made anyone think we would ever get 100% buy in for a vaccine?
-
Obviously I’d prefer my family get care, but that’s just my opinion. Im also well on record for saying your feeling, my feelings, no ones feelings matter. What matters is we have all been failed by our government. They weren’t prepared to deal with anything like this, and over 2 years later, they are no better positioned. We should have learned we aren’t doing good enough and spend the billions we did on improving what is most important, Healthcare. Not this back and forth are we open are we not bs. We watch these bozo’s make the same mistake over and over again, yet we are supposed to still follow blindly and trust them they are being honest and doing us right? Nah.
-
Your MSP doesn’t have that clause There are consequences, but your life shouldnt be one of them. You all are picking and choosing who lives and dies. Pretty wild of you guys.
-
I’m not arguing they aren’t making a mess. Im arguing we can’t pick and choose who gets help. We all pay it to the system and a lot of people’s poor choices are putting them in the hospitals. My answer to the theoretical, Why the hell is there still only 1 damn bed? Billions wasted on keeping us home wit no result, but still no beds…..
-
All of those examples do. Diabetes could have been because the guy was a big suger monster fatty. He doesn’t get care? Other people could use that bed. Lady has lung cancer from smoking. She doesn’t get care? Other people could use that bed. I thought a huge lofted out 540 off a giant roller would be rad. My knee disagreed. I shouldn’t have gotten care? Other people could have used that bed. A huge amount of people are in the hospitals because of their choices, and they are all taking up beds.
-
I’m sure if the government gave antivaxers the money back they paid in for all those years, they’d be fine with it. Use it to go to private care somewhere. Are you going to start denying beds for diabetics? People with lung cancer? I destroyed me knee while skiing. It was a choice I made. Should I have been denied treatment as well? Someone else could have used that surgery time for sure! Where does it end? How can you draw the line there?

Couldn’t disagree more. Never should this be mandatory. That’s disgusting. You should be able to go to the gym. You are vaxed, you show your passport. It’s insane that you can’t. It seems like you are only reading bits and pieces of what I’m saying, so I don’t think this conversation is worth having much longer. Im fully vaxed and think everyone should be. There is zero chance everyone will get on board, and we will get through it regardless. There has been antivaxers through every single pandemic, and humanity always gets through it. How we are being treated through this all is why people think we will never get out until everyone gets the shots, but in reality, the virus already looks to be weakening. Those who aren’t vaxed will likely end up with natural immunity after they get it a couple times. The vaxed will end up getting it too, causing better immunity in the future. Herd immunity takes over and we are done. The virus isn’t the major issue anymore. The poor reaction by the dopes in charge are the issue. I stead of spending billions of fast tracking healthcare upgrades, they spent billions on keeping us all home, and we still need the upgrades.
-
I understand the consequences. That’s why I am vaccinated. I also agree the non vaxed are doing harm…..sort of. Lots of vaxed folks in the hospital these days too. Still, I’ll never support the government telling people they have to inject themselves with stuff, especially something so new.
-
I’m not going to go back and forth with your straw man nonsense, thanks. But if you want to talk about seatbelts, sure. I like them and wear them. I think they are a great way to stay safe in your car. Do I give a pooh if you wear yours? Nope. I’d say you are dumb for not wearing one, but at the end of the day, that’s your choice.
-
I’m fully vaxed and totally support the vaccine Alf. I don’t trust the people who don’t seem to get they are making the same mistake over and over again, nor the government sympathizers who follow blindly and not realize they can and should be doing better for us.
-
It was a crack at your bad analogy, kind like mine was. Or did you think I was going to take that seriously?
-
Yes I understand what it all means. I still don’t support the government having authority over my blood. I took the shots because I believe in science and think it’s the right thing to do. But that’s also my opinion. Personally I wouldn’t take Trudeau’s advice on what socks I should wear. (I wouldn’t trust any political party for that matter) and I understand why people don’t want it. My body my choice. sure you might feel different, but that’s your own opinion.
-
Sorry Alf, but I’m not going to continues with you in this thread. This schtick is fine with hockey, but it seems you can’t have an adult conversation.
-
First, are they forcing you to inject that seatbelt into your body? Second, no cars can hold 100 people. The closest thing would be a bus. And guess what…. Buses don’t have seatbelts!
-
That’s bullpooh and we both know it. That’s the same as refusing treatment for when you get drunk and crash your scooter. We all pay into the system, we all get treatment. We all also get the right to choose what we put in our bodies. The government shouldn’t get that choice. They have proven time after time again they are incompetent. Libs, Cons, NDP, etc….. they are all incompetent. At this point is gross people think the government can use the vaccine as a cop out instead of improving our healthcare system from the ground up. More hospitals, more training, major incentives for doing the training, better wages. Instead of real solutions they keep trying to force a group of people to do what they obviously don’t want to do. And where are we now?? Same stupid spot we were 2 years ago, except everybody hates each other now. Hahahahah Its disgusting.
-
They aren’t going too. I don’t know why this is even talked about. There is always going to be a small chunk who can’t, and another a small chunk who won’t. It’s always going to be there. We can’t keep catering to the minority. 100 people going to the pool 5 can’t swim 3 are just there to pee in the pool. Do we shut down the pool? No. You teach the 5 to swim, or get them a comfy chair and you tell the 3 pool pissers to go play in traffic. We need to find another way. We need to take better care and provide for the vulnerable, IMPROVE HEATHCARE, and realize there are always going to be a couple people trying to piss in our pool. Always going have them. 100%.
-
Shouldn’t that be enough evidence to cut out this lockdown/restrictions BS? Keep the passport and let us get back to normal. If you are vaccinated, the only thing holding you back now is the government.
-
Apparently the research, much like everything in this pandemic, has been hit or miss. Ive read for like a year, getting Covid gives you stronger antibodies than the vax. That might not be accurate now. I dunno. I got the shots. Won’t be getting the booster. I got Omi during Xmas. It was fine. Wife was fine. Daughter had a cough for 3/4 days. All good since. I’m sure the vax helped us not get sicker. Daughter isn’t vaxed yet, she made it through perfectly fine.
-
Here is a fun question for you all. If someone gets covid, and not this weak ass omicron garbage, but the OG or Delta….. Does that person have to get the vaccine, and should they need to provide a vax passport? It’s been proven that getting Covid provides you with much stronger antibodies than the vaccine. So if that person isn’t worried about getting it again, should they be required too? Should that count and you get a “antibody passport”?

What do rules have to do with the union representing him like they are legally obligated too? Opioid don’t matter here
-
Imaging paying mass amounts of dues into a union you’ve worked in for years and years, and they decide to just not support you because you are a jerk. Lol. Luckily things don’t work like that. Please don’t become any kind of union rep. lol!

I love your style Alf. It’s a lot of fun. But you are the last person I’d ever ask questions about another team’s prospects. lol!
