  1. Should be enough to placate the Leafs and shouldn’t hurt the Canucks overly much.
  2. Not sure there’s a sport out there that Canadians dominate more than curling. Most other nations build super teams. If Canada did that it would not be fair lol
  3. Or Hrudey would attempt but can’t execute because he’s flopping on his belly
  4. Get what you are trying to say but your sentiment is orders of magnitude off, you may want to consider editing that
  5. Petey would’ve reverse hit Eddie on to his rear, too smart to do what Hyman tried to do
  6. This is exactly what I saw live, if you need to frame by frame a play to find fault in a play then it’s hard to argue intent. No one’s brain-action response works that fast
  7. Probably wise to give him one game just to avoid stupidity next game
  8. That’s like one game’s worth of Matthew Tkachuk’s BS
  9. Should’ve just taken the hit as you said, outcome would’ve been the same play wise and neither player would’ve been at risk knee wise
  10. I kinda saw it this way too. Even looked like Eddie expected him to go out wide because he shifted his body that way to make contact, which makes it look more like he was hanging his leg than he really was (vs pushing with it to make contact out wide). My mind if could have been just as easily Eddie on the ice after that play. Ill advised move by Hyman as you said as he didn’t have the time and space and cut into Eddie’s lane rather than around him. As for the repeat offender BS you play as many games as Eddie has and plays like these happen
  11. Easy to lose yourself in this F’d up season
  12. We have 5 games vs Edmonton win all our remaining games in Regulation we are ahead of Edmonton in the standings
  13. Would like to see a couple guys get a bit longer look. Time to see what some of these guys have at the NHL level and 3-4 games is not a statistically significant number of games
  14. I prefer looking at it like this: If VAN wins all remaining games in regulation then the maximum available points in the division are: TO: 76 WPG: 75 MTL: 75 VAN: 73 EDM: 70 CGY: 57 OTT: 48 The Canucks are still in charge of their own destiny.
  15. So Virtanen being one of the last into Covid protocol somehow made everyone sick?
  16. Aquaman gets to pay his 1M signing bonus cut
  17. I live in Montreal and have been to a few Rockets games and a couple of Utica games in Laval. So much more affordable than the Habs including the concessions. Just as fast and as entertaining, just not high end skill of the NHL. The kids can’t tell the difference and had a blast, especially the Slurpies and Popcorn Great arena, 10,000 seats that are basically all equivalent to reds at the Bell Centre. Most expensive seat is around 40 bucks. Sad thing is you think the games would be packed but every game I’ve been to were less than half full. Rabid Habs fans care about the Habs and that’s about it. The two world junior’s here recently were tragic in terms of attendance. Langford with commuter rail as I said would make the games accessible to pretty much 80% of the island population and as you’ve said they’d belong to the island and be the kid Canucks which would go a long way to fill seats I think the biggest issue for the island would be the extra operational cost of the travel. My buddies and I used to walk to the old memorial Arena and watch the Cougars pretty much every Friday/Saturday night when we were teens. Was really disappointed when they moved to Prince-George, even more disappointed when they kept the name. The Victoria Cougars have history and it was a bit of a slap in the face after the kick in the nuts from losing the team in the first place
  18. Go Fund me for his 3Mil next year to retire
  19. The island begs for a commuter train corridor from at least Parksville down to Victoria. Been living in the East for almost 20 years now where rail is used regularly by everyone. Always found it tragic that small US cities can support an AHL team and the larger lower Island population base can’t even maintain an ECHL team
  20. OJ needs to be playing games, so many lost to injuries the last few years not playing this year is ridiculous
  21. Voted yes because technically they can but they most likely “Will” not
  22. The fate of Canucks overtaking Mtl is in Mtl’s hands, the fate of the Canucks over taking Edmonton and Calgary are still in the Canucks’ hands. Until the Canucks fate is completely out of their hands “Now out of Reach” is overly strong/defeatist in my mind. Don’t disagree that it is a steep slope to climb but anything can happen and I will only become defeatist when their fate is out of their hands, I am not so optimistic that I need to wait for them to be mathematically out unless there is still a chance with two weeks left I do agree with the sentiment that finishing 17th to 22nd would be a wasted season but Covid pretty much pulled the plug on the season for us so they can tank without looking like they are tanking now but personally I am not a fan of lack of try, that breeds dressing room cancer.
  23. So much irony around Baer, JB put himself in a serious Cap situation when he signed Ferland. Ironic how they were seemingly concerned about Baer’s concussion situation and how he doesn’t fit their system so they decided to bury him in place of Ferland and Gaudette. Now Ferland has played minimal games and out indefinitely with concussion issues and Gaudette is gone because he doesn’t fit their system. All egos and burned bridges in my mind
  24. More fitting response to that gibberish would’ve been “go Wrath Bone yourself” feel free to use that one anytime
