  1. Was talking to Lorne Frey from the Rockets last weekend and he was pretty high and impressed with Christall. Said they raised a few eyebrows drafting him but he has turned out as good or better than expected.
  2. Thanks for the update...I didn't know that.
  3. If Miller goes to Vegas I would much rather have Korzak, Hague and Roy coming back and if they want to dump a bit more salary that is fine, plus we could retain 1/2 of Millers salary this year and add a bottom D-man if they want.
  4. His contract is up after next year. We would also get out of the 5 mil bonus July 1st.
  5. I think he would be good and I think Svozil is a somewhat hidden gem.
  6. Not sure what Columbus is planning but thought I heard they were looking for a winger: VAN- Boeser, Rathbone CBJ- Gavrikov, Svozil Thoughts?
  7. Korczak, Hague and 1st for Horvat 50% retained. Could add Stillman or Dermott if cap fits.
  8. I know we would all like to get Nemec or Jiricek in a trade but I think for one of them it could cost us Hughes not Bo or JT. I for one would consider it if the deal included more pieces we need coming back but I'm not sure that could get pulled off. As an alternative I would like to really go after Svozil from the Blue Jackets, I honestly think this guy will be a stud but doesn't seem to get talked about. My proposal: Columbus- Svozil Vancouver- Rathbone Would that be enough? Do we add? Or do we go with a bigger deal such as Columbus- Svozil, Ceulemans, Nyquist (5.5 UFA) and Gavrikov (2.8 UFA) Vancouver- Stillman (1.35) and JT (50% retained- 2.625) Love to hear your thoughts on this.
  9. I wouldn't do either of them but I would trade Hughes for an all round better D package including roster player, NHL ready prospect and an A prospect...all Dmen.
  10. If Garland plays top 6, which he should, then I think he will produce at a better rate.
  11. To fit cap wise Pitt has to give contract back and Kapanen has been not performed like one 1st rounder, that is why I chose him to come back.
  12. Garland to the Penguins for Ty Smith and Kapanen. We gain about a mil in cap space and D-man in Smith (starts as 3rd pairing and could work up in future). Thoughts?? This would be my first trade as the GM and more to follow.
  13. Lots to think through on these proposals. I would not do trade 1 as is, take McDonaugh out and a lesser prospect instead. Trade 2 and 3 I would do. Trade 4 is the one that I would want Svozil in that deal other than Sillinger or the pick. I really think Svozil will be a good top 4 player in time. he has a good all round game from what I've watched over the last couple years. I never hear his name mentioned in trade proposals but would be for me. Schenn being traded would be dependent on other deals being made, if we get a fill in then as much as I love having him on the team (all the way back to his Kelowna Rocket days actually) then you get something for him. We need a long term plan to be successful.
  14. Would love to keep him but..... I think you need to find out how much they are wanting (term and money) first and then go from there.
  15. According to cap friendly they have 7 mill/cap space so that should be enough room.
  16. TRADE 1- Vancouver trades Garland (4.95) and Stillman (1.35) Nashville trades Fabbro (2.4) and Sissons (2.857) TRADE 2- Vancouver trades Boeser (6.65) Minnisota trades Greenway (3.0) and Lambos In the first trade we get defensive help with Fabbro and a good 3C in Sissons. This also gives us just over a mil. in cap space. If Nashville would do Trenin instead of Sissons I would be okay with that as well, it also gives us more cap space in the deal. Nashville gets a spark plug in Garland who can help them in scoring, Stillman helps them being a 7 th NHL Dman with Fabbro going to Van. In the second trade Boeser goes home and I think it would do him good with a change of scenery, hopefully find his game again. We get a big body in Greenway who is a good 3rd line winger and Lambos a future Dman who looks good. With this trade we also gain 3.65 mil. in cap space. In total we save 4.8 mil. in salary that will help with resigning Bo and we get help on the defensive side of the game. Let me know your thoughts as to these deals.
  17. Love this guys size and speed and he seems to be breaking out this year. Not sure what Colorado is lacking but thought I would throw this out to see what you think.
  18. Those guys all drive the play. Boeser doesn't even come close to them in that regard. I would trade him way before Miller or Horvat.
  19. If trading Boeser to Pitt....my trade would be Boeser, Poolman and Dickinson for Kapanen, DeSmith, S Poulin, Maniscalo, Zohorna, McGinn and a 2nd and 3rd (or a 1st if you can get it). I would then trade DeSmith or Halak to Edmonton. I would try to get Holloway and McLeod from them if possible.
  20. Very sad!! He was awesome for the NFL and us viewers.
  21. 1st unprotected, Ty Smith, Nolan Foote, Damon Severson and Nick Merkley. Basically they would have to overpay to get him. We would have to send them salary as well to work cap wise so there could be a few choices to to NJ with Quinn.
  22. His career has been for a few years now. He is basically irrelevant.
