    I like to think of the future and yes would be great to have EP,the what if is interesting as well. I just want us to win a cup in my lifetime.

    Well might be a bigger deal then as what we got for Horvat was awesome but EP is worth more and that why I say another young player. We might have to give up either Hogs or Rathbone plus a 4th but would be well worth it. I highly doubt it would be vets as if EP is gone so is QH , Demko and Miller. My thing is do sorta what the Leafs did get young guys plus picks and rank for a couple years.By the time all are ready we would have 2 scoring lines and top pairing D plus we already have a great young goalie.Then sign three or four good ufa's and we would be way better in three years.

    If we trade EP we would get 2 young players, a young player from the years draft, 1 to three 1sts? I don't really know but he is young, top ten center in the league.So what ever that is worth.

    Well some how again we really need some cap room.EP wants to win and our D got better,our forwards are good. We need Demko to stay healthy and a couple players not named EP,QH or Miller to have career years and we should be a good team making the playoffs.

    EP said he wants to win so yes I can see him digging a 4 to 5 year deal. If 8 we might be looking at close to 12 mill per as I said earlier. But if he does deside not to stay in the future yes him and QH will both want out. Just hope it's not another retool.

    Well yes and for the only other reason that matters.Being the best in the world you have to keep the player happy. Mathews hasn't done anything close to McDavid if they both had contracts same year Mathews would get less. Oil have done better then the Leafs but they also have two players better then the leafs which means less money to fill out the roster with stars. So say what you will but my point is Mathews just sank his team moving forward. Maybe if they traded a couple players and got a better goalie , same with the oil they might get to a cup.The way the cap is you need to better balance a team then pay many a high price. That is what I think this team has finally learned. .

    No but McDavid is the best player in the world so reason to bring up his name. He is miles ahead of Mathews and EP. If he got a new deal would be highest it could be at that time he signed and deserved.

    Cause he is waiting for now and cap going up when he gets over 100 points again he will be worth about 12. If he waits and gets under 100 then the price goes down. He is a top ten C in the league and will command a top ten salary. Names you mentioned will get a big raise so really comparing older deals to new ones makes no sense, specially when the cap goes up.

    Well if Mathews got over 13 at this point EP should be looking for 12.

    I want to see what we do with Karlsson. Will he get a long look? I'd be going to make the team? If not he will want out is my bet. Are we going to trade him plus to get something, or as part of a Myers deal?

    I'll be happy when he signs whenever that maybe. Just hope he doesn't do an unprofessional thing and wait till last minute. If he is happy he will sign asap. If he wants money he will wait and wait.

    Me I think if we get a breakout year for a 3c and the fourth plays decent we should make it. Best thing we can do is trade a couple players like Brock 1 to 1.5 retained, plus Hogs or Rathbone and a fourth to get that C or in a Myers deal after his bonus with something similar. That way we get 3 named centers to produce or another RHD and send Myers packing. If we can do that we will be playoff bound.

    Hirose will prove again he deserves to stay with the club weather it be in exhibition or rist call up. Think Wolanin will be odd man out.

    Me another RHD in a trade, or a trade for a good backup.

    Well they all earned their deals. Time will tell which is truly horrible.

    I remember in high school I lived in South Van and went to school at Van Tech.Played a guy lived near there and I would use the goalie in close and pounce on the puck.He was shocked never saw anybody do that and said if I did that again he would score.Well dud it two more times and beat him.LOL
