Trading away Boeser just in case he becomes too expensive doesn't seem very wise to me. Sure, we could ease all our cap problems by trading away our skilled players but that isn't the goal. Winning is the goal (I hope). We have to keep pure goal scorers like Boeser and figure out the cap as we go. GCG!

[Discussion] JT Miller to Rangers

Nah, I think we should keep our leading scorer and most intense player whether or not we make the playoffs this year. GCG! -

Yeah, I think Benning won that trade too. Garland has played really well for us. I love his energy and skill. And OEL seems to be a steadying influence on D even if he isn't putting up huge offensive numbers. It's especially nice considering what we got rid of to get these guys. Anyway, Go Canucks Go! -

And we've still got Juulsen as well. He's kind of a wild card. I think Benning won that trade. A parting gift perhaps. GCG! -

But, but, but, I'm allowed as many players on the ice as I like... GCG! -

More like low taxes, sometimes none. With different tax systems the cap isn't really as fair as it seems. GCG! -

All games are winnable. Or at least we need to think they are. We need to aim for a win, not "a point". We can do it if we believe, but we have to start by believing we can. We've actually been playing well, we just need to convert that into a win. GCG! -
Censoring individual words is always a fool's errand. It's the concepts and motives behind the use of words that need to be given some consideration. One can insult someone deeply using ordinary language and one can joke around with friends using the most taboo words. Words don't matter it's the intentions behind them. GCG!

He's dispirited. It's probably because he's tired of being beat up every shift. That's the reality of being a relatively small skilled guy in the NHL. He has to figure it out like everyone else but it would really help if he had some protection out on the ice (and I don't mean Pearson or Miller - it was nice to see them step up when they had to but that isn't their role). The NHL with it's whacky inconsistent refereeing isn't going to protect him so we need an enforcer. Gretzky had his Semenko. Bure had his Odjick. Petey needs someone like that to make the other team pay when they take cheap shots against him. I would rather not have to go that way and I would prefer better and more consistent refereeing but that's just not going to happen in the current NHL. Go Canucks Go!

The age old problem is how do we know if we are a buyer or a seller until everybody else does? Besides, I don't really like these exaggerated dichotomies. The media loves to grab attention by making everything do or die, A or B, this or that. There are more than two positions to be in and there is more than one strategy to build a winning team. Yes, some teams make the playoffs and some teams don't but there is a whole lot more to building a cup winning team than just that. I say stay the course as long as possible, as long as we are winning, to find out more about what we have. We already went through a lot of turnover this past year and we are still sorting out the instability caused by that. Not to mention the coaching and management changes. I think Rutherford or whoever the full time GM turns out to be would be wise to be patient and only make a deal if it is an obvious improvement. We don't need more turnover just for the sake of turnover, we need more stability. Go Canucks Go!
