  1. If only our whole team played the way Motte and Garland play. Maybe it will rub off on the others. Let's hope... GCG!
  2. I doubt it. I sincerely doubt it. I mean with hypotheticals one never knows but it seems so very unlikely. Go Canucks Go!
  3. Yep, they're a joke and it's all on the NHLPA. They are so worried about the players financial health that they don't give a crap about their physical or mental health. The NHLPA in general and Don Fehr in particular are a joke. They're just a bunch of parasites. GCG!
  4. I think that it would be pretty foolish to trade him just because we're off to a bad start this season. GCG!
  5. Not only no but "he** no". I'd even pay money to keep him on another team, or better yet somewhere other than the NHL. GCG!
  6. To "manage" the entertainment value of a game in order to make the owners more money. GCG!
  7. So let me get this straight, missing a party is somehow significant but missing the entire training camp isn't? GCG!
  8. Yeah, panicking in the face of adversity is always the right way to go. (sarcasm alert) Like many people have said, Bo is not the problem. GCG!
  9. I believe that you have just contradicted yourself but whatever. Further embarrassment is not the way forward in my opinion. We need to develop a culture of winning. We have good enough players, we just need to get organized. Maybe some further changes are needed but we just went through a big round of changes and we don't even really know what we have yet. In my opinion we need patience and determination not more panic. There is no rush to make sweeping changes. We need to focus on winning with what we have. It's best to dance with the date you bring to the party. Maybe even twice. GCG!
  10. I don't think that losing on purpose is the obvious way to go for most people, nevermind "everyone else". But each to their own strategy I suppose. I prefer to try to win. GCG!
  11. ... and what would that accomplish? In my opinion, the only path forward is to put more effort into winning. Go Canucks Go!
  12. Jim Benning is still the GM so he gets to make the decisions that GM's get to make. Is this rocket science? GCG!
  13. Every shot on goal has a chance to go in (albeit some more than others). The only time it is zero is when you don't shoot. GCG!
  14. I think that we should stay the course with our current batch of players and not make any significant trades until we can see what we can get out of them. We may have had a terrible start but it's a long season and we can still get better with our current roster. At the start of the season, many of us fans, myself included, thought that we had a good line-up going into the season and that Benning had made many good off season moves. Despite our poor start to the season, I still think that this is mostly true. We don't really know what we have yet. I think that the biggest problem with the team is lack of chemistry. With all the new players everyone has to get to know each other and the whole team has to figure out their roles. Petterson and Hughes missing training camp also hurt this team even if it is a "normal" negotiating tactic. Green may or may not have to go. I'm not sure how much of it is on him but Petterson and the whole team behind him seem a little out of sorts (Demko excluded, he's been awesome). Our playoff hopes are fading for this year but even that is still not off the table. I still think that this group of players can win, but they have to turn it up a notch somehow. They have to grind it out one game at a time and not look to any excuses. Go Canucks Go!
  15. It's sad that the NHL is still trying to force hockey into non-hockey markets when hockey-mad Quebec city deserves a team but doesn't have one. I would love to see the return of Les Nordiques. Hockey in the desert just doesn't make as much sense (and probably not as much money either). GCG!
  16. It was a good win but we didn't get any help from the refs. It was yet another display of brutally incompetent refereeing from the NHL. The only reason it looked like they were favouring us at times is that they missed obvious calls the other way (Pionk with the obvious roughing call in front of their net, Hughes getting tripped during the delayed penalty - those were both obvious penalties with the ref standing right there with no call - brutal). NHL referees are either completely incompetent or let too many other factors into their penalty calling decisions (i.e. they are corrupt - "game management" is just corporate whitewash for using refereeing to influence the games). I pick the latter. I don't think that they are collectively that stupid or blind, just completely corrupt. GCG!
  17. Instead of worrying about the coaching, I think you should concentrate more on playing. GCG!
  18. Just putting this out there, how about the Sedins for the first dual head coaching job in the NHL? Yes, they don't have any experience but they know hockey, know the NHL, are generally very smart, and have such amazing work effort that they would figure it all out pretty quickly. I mean would it really be worse than what we have now? GCG!
  19. But, but, we need you to score some goals for us in this one... GCG!
  20. I'm not saying it's "new", I'm saying it's unethical. Game management debases the sport and makes the NHL look like professional wrestling instead of an actual sports league. Wrestling used to be a real sport. Hockey is going in the same direction. It's not quite full on wrestling style refereeing but we're heading in that direction and it won't be long until we get there unless more people object. GCG!
