I can remember watching Jack play and I can honestly second this comment. Perfect example of a guy you want to have on your team and not have to play against. Go Canucks Go!

Luckily he gets more than one swing. Not saying it wasn't a swing and a miss, but that's only one strike. Maybe two now. But there's still a chance for a homer. There's still hope he can contribute. Go Canucks Go!

He opted out long ago. Go Canucks Go!

I voted for winning the Stanley Cup. I mean why bother if you're not in it to win it? And please don't call it the Covid Tourney or the Covid Cup. It's the Stanley Cup, have a little more respect. It's still going to take a massive effort to win it and whoever does will have earned it. I hope it's the Canucks. Go Canucks Go!

Unpopular take, I never got the Ballard hate.
nux_win replied to CanadianRugby's topic in Canucks Talk
When I first saw this thread, I thought you meant Harold Ballard. Y'know the old cantankerous owner of the Leafs. Not many hockey people are confused about why they didn't like that guy. Even as a lifelong Canucks fan I kind of felt sorry for Leafs' Nation with that guy at the helm. Go Canucks Go! -
Losing is for losers. Losing on purpose for a slightly improved chance at winning later is pathetic. A #1 pick (i.e. Lafreniere) might be a nice consolation prize but let's not lose focus here. Adding a top pick to a losing culture doesn't always have the desired effect (cough Edmonton cough). I want to win every time we hit the ice and I want to support a team that thinks the same way. Canucks all the way. We need to develop a winning culture and that starts now. Go Canucks Go!

Are the next 2 seasons throw aways? (Discussion)

We're in the playoffs right now (pretty much). No time like the present. Go Canucks Go! -

No season is a "throw away". In fact no game is a "throw away". We should try our best to win each and every game and every season we should try to win the cup. Tanking is for losers. Oh, and I'd sign Toffoli, Tanev, AND Markstrom (if possible). There must be a way to dump Eriksson to free up some cash. I want to see more of Toffoli. We've seen enough of Tanev to know that we need his defensive effort. And Markstrom has been brilliant this year. Why get rid of any of them? There's gotta be a way to keep all three. Yep. If I were Green, that's the forward lineup that I would ice for Game #1. And that's a pretty solid lineup with quality waiting on the bench to boot. Green may cook up something different, and that's his prerogative, but that looks good to me. Go Canucks Go!

I like Gaudette and I like his scrappy attitude and I see him as an important part of the team going forward but I would rather have a healthy Sutter at 3C for playoff hockey until Gaudette puts a little more meat on his bones. Gaudette has a long career ahead of him but Sutter is the right piece for here and now for these playoffs. And when someone goes down it will be nice to have Gaudette waiting in the wings to take up the slack. He'll likely get his chance regardless if Sutter starts. It's nice to have tons of depth right now, and depending on how far we go we're going to need it. Go Canucks Go! Oh, and since this is an Eriksson thread I may as well mention him. Eriksson is a nice asset to have from the bench and he may even get used but I don't think he makes the starting line-up when we have so many other players available. He could even end up being a valuable player at some point. I mean you never know...

I like that lineup. As much as I like Gaudette and see him as a good player for us in the future, I'd rather see a healthy Sutter at 3C for a playoff run right now. I like Ferland in the lineup assuming of course he's fully recovered and ready to go. With such a lot of talent that is going to have to be left off this team, at least to start (there are going to be injuries), Motte looks like he should sit but I think that he has earned his place on the team with consistent high energy play that will be a valuable spark in the playoffs. I like this lineup to not only do well in the first series against Minnesota but maybe turn some heads after that too. Go Canucks Go!

They've only been doing that for, say, about 50 years. Go Canucks Go! -

Gaudette and MacEwen had really strong games tonight. Well done boys. Keep it going. Go Canucks Go! -
Random refereeing is getting completely out of hand. I've been watching NHL hockey for 50 years and I don't know what a penalty is anymore. And what's worse is that I don't think that the referees do either. Calling penalties is more about marketing these days than trying to have a fair game. Go Canucks Go!
