  1. Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. I'm over 2011 (except Keith still deserves to lose some teeth). And don't get me wrong, I love the Sedins. Awesome people! Go Twins. But I for one still want one of them "stupid" cups. Go Canucks Go!
  2. The Sedins were and are so amazing! Fantastic hockey players and even better human beings. Thanks for the memories and thanks for just being yourselves. Go Canucks Go!
  3. Hey man I have great empathy for your injuries but every case is different. Are you saying that nobody can ever return to contact sports after a head injury? Because that seems to be what you're implying. Nobody knows for sure, head injuries are highly complicated stuff, but it's almost certain that he is getting the best health advice that is currently available. He has taken quite a long time off already. The official line may be a lie but the official line is that he isn't suffering post concussion syndrome. We don't really know what it is. They won't say specifically. So all we fans can do is speculate. Sometimes more rest is required, yes, but sometimes not. Many pro athletes have come back from head injuries (and sadly many haven't). There is always some risk involved in playing contact sports. I've played rugby and I've had my "bell rung" a few times but that doesn't make me an expert on head injuries. I'm just saying that we should trust the people who are. Go Canucks Go!
  4. How can we fans possibly know that it is "too soon" better than the top shelf professional health care practitioners he's working with? I don't want to see him re-injure himself anymore than anyone else but if he's good to go, he's good to go. And I sure hope he's good to go, we could use him. Go Canucks Go!
  5. Then what is an instigator penalty? Go Canucks Go!
  6. Bettman has the refs trained to look at the scoreboard before they call any penalties. Go Canucks Go!
  7. No, it's the Sedins who are awesome! Go Canucks Go!
  8. Yeah, I noticed that too. Lots of cheap shots out there. Keep your heads up boys. And let's have more pushback! Go Canucks Go!
  9. This is going to be a high scoring game. Their D is pinching like crazy already. Our D just looks confused. Go Canucks Go!
  10. Petey is always raring to go. That's part of what makes him so good, his attitude. I just hope he isn't hurting too much. Big game tonight. A few more big bodies might not hurt. Either way we need to up our physical play. Go Canucks Go!
  11. Jake tuna-ed him up! Go Canucks Go! P.S. - Where's the extra penalty to Minnesota?
  12. I'm not so sure. Remember a wounded bear is still dangerous. Taking any team lightly this time of year could be a problem. Anyway, one game at a time. Tonight let's take care of Minnesota. We'll stick a fork in Calgary later. Go Canucks Go!
  13. I didn't notice that. Good for Jake. We need even more than that though. Petey doesn't get enough respect from other teams and the referees are pathetically inconsistent. If we're going to survive the playoffs we need every single player on the team throwing hits. That's what makes Boston so effective, ALL their players throw hits when the opportunity presents itself. For us it is only an occasional thing and mostly only a handful of players. I saw lots of players turning away when they could have been finishing their hits. It was frustrating because the Bruins took every opportunity. We have to play our style but I think we need to up the physical play a bit. I don't necessarily mean gooning it up but more hitting would a good thing. Just my opinion. Go Canucks Go!
  14. So true. I'm still angry about that hit on Petey in Boston. Fully three seconds late, crushed into the boards, and no penalty and nobody coming to his defence. That just can't continue. I would rather the referees call the obvious penalties but failing that, and they do fail at that, we need some push-back of some kind. I expect a better effort tonight but not necessarily better refereeing. Go Canucks Go!
  15. It was pretty much game over early in the first period when they crushed Petey into the boards a full three seconds after he played the puck with no penalty and no push-back. But I'm still clinging to the small chance we have of actually coming back. Go Canucks Go!
  16. I'm watching the Boston feed and even their announcers are commenting on the lack of physicality by the Canucks. Can we make a few body checks please? Boston goes out of their way to take the body, legal or not, and that's part of the reason why they are so successful. I know we have to play our own style but could we please throw some hits? Go Canucks Go!
  17. FIFY Well, I used to but not these days. They used to have some integrity but now it is all BS for profit. Go Canucks Go!
  18. It's not an overreaction. It was a VERY late hit and it was clearly a penalty without any call. I so hate NHL refereeing these days. Go Canucks Go!
  19. I do think that concussions should be taken seriously and that they should err on the side of caution but that doesn't mean that concussion problems are necessarily "career over". Each individual situation is different. As fans we don't have full information as to how serious his health problems are or even if it is indeed a problem with concussion (the official line is that it isn't). We have to trust that the Canucks have professional health practitioners to take care of it. Anyway I want to see Ferland play for the Canucks if he is cleared by the medical staff and/or other experts on head injuries. It may even be something else. Oh and since this is a thread about Miller's fine play I don't want to hijack it with too much discussion about Ferland. This side discussion was kicked off by someone saying that we need another player like Miller for the playoffs (who wouldn't want that). I suggested that we already have a good hard-nosed playoff-like player waiting in the wings. In any case Miller has been awesome and fully worth the price it took to get him. Well done Benning! Depth is an important factor in winning. Go Canucks Go!
  20. Yeah, he hasn't lived up to expectations but has he really ever been 100% healthy in a Canucks uniform? There's a lot of doubt surrounding that. When on his game he can be an effective player (and difficult to play against). There's still a chance he can regain his form. Here's hoping... Go Canucks Go!
  21. Ferland was supposed to be that guy (maybe slightly less offensive talent, but hard to play against). Too bad his mystery injury is keeping him out of the line-up. In any case Miller has been outstanding and he fully deserves the recognition. Go Canucks Go!
  22. I don't want Miller to change a thing. He's playing the game the way it is meant to be played. That penalty call was ridiculous and no way is that on Miller. Go Canucks Go!
  23. Calm down people and please leave the coaching to the professionals. We're doing fine. Brock is doing fine (it's just a slump, every goal-scorer goes through that, it's not a problem). Green and Benning actually know what they are doing. Go Canucks Go!
