  1. Yeah, I was thinking more about his time with the Bruins. Go Canucks Go!
  2. Yeah, I totally agree. I remember when Thornton used to be a highly skilled clean player. I wonder if him taking so many hacks and whacks early in his career makes him think he's entitled to give it back to anyone he feels like. Whatever the reason I've also noticed that he's transformed from a high level skilled player into a low class goon. Sad, really. But also dangerous. Keep you head up boys and let's play them hard. Go Canucks Go!
  3. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I remember back when we used to want to punch the other team's players in the face. Go Canucks Go!
  4. If we want to be a good team we have to be ready to play anybody at any time and expect to have a chance to win. Go Canucks Go!
  5. I was kind of freaked out by that at first too, but Sportsurge is there in its place. In fact, so far, I like it better. Go Canucks Go!
  6. This isn't an argument, it's just contradiction. Go Canucks Go!
  7. Thanks for your input but it still doesn't make any sense to me. Why then don't they do the same with all too many men situations. Consistency is not the NHL's strong suit. I can let that one go though. I also wanted to mention that I made a pretty serious typo in my comment, I meant to say I am "now" more informed when I actually said I am "no" more informed (quite a big difference than intended). Anyway, the bottom line is that the way the NHL officiates these days keeps me constantly confused. I've been watching NHL hockey for 50 years and while there is always some grey area I used to feel pretty confident about what constituted a penalty and what didn't, now I'm mostly mystified by what they let go and what they actually call. I have no idea what a penalty is anymore and I wonder if the refs do. Go Canucks Go!
  8. Thanks. That explains why it wasn't called a penalty. Now, I'm curious as to why that rule is written that way. Seems like obvious too many men to me. But whatever, I am now more informed. Go Canucks Go!
  9. Yeah, it's been horribly inconsistent all year. And it seems league wide too. That's what happens when they start to "manage" the game instead of just calling it as they see it, nobody knows what a penalty is anymore and it all becomes random. I'm sure the owners are thinking that they are maximizing their profits by making it more "entertaining" but people who prefer NHL over WWE don't necessarily see it that way. I'd like to let the players play but whatever place they decide to draw the line they have to do it more consistently. I'd like to see the NHL call the penalties the same during the regular season and the playoffs like they do in the NFL. The NHL always denies that the penalty definition is different at different times but any hockey fan knows that it is. Anyway I don't think that any of that is going to happen so we have to just enjoy it as it is. At least we're getting some of the random calls our way. Go Canucks Go!
  10. Hey, can anyone explain why that wasn't a too many men penalty on the 'Yotes when they were trying to pull their goalie and the extra man came on too soon? It's not like they missed it. Anyway, good win Canucks. Next. Go Canucks Go!
  11. I believe it was the last time Ferland played. It didn't work out too well, but yeah we need a bit more backbone. GCG!
  12. Hello to the Yukon. Fine weather you have there. That's also a nice place. My dog would approve. GCG!
  13. Since this is the "Frostbite Edition" I guess I should mention that it was -35 this morning when I walked my dog here in northern B.C. Did some snowshoeing this afternoon at -28 with bright sunlight piercing through the snow covered spruce forest. It was beautiful. Go Canucks Go!
  14. I like the optimism. Now if we fans could just maintain the optimism after a loss. The future looks bright. In fact the present looks pretty good. Go Canucks Go!
  15. Sure we can't keep everyone but I see no reason why we can't continue to improve with new talent coming up on cheap deals. I see no reason why our young core can't improve individually and we've got new guys on the way up that are showing promise. No reason for pessimism. Go Canucks Go!
  16. He just needed to be 4 inches taller and it would have been in. Go Canucks Go!
  17. EP is awesome! Not only for his obvious offensive creativity but also for his defensive awareness and passionate play all over the ice. If he were 20 or 30 pounds heavier he would have flattened that guy. As it is, I like the effort. If he could only stay on his skates a bit more but it is what it is. Why can't everybody on our team play with passion like that? That's what it is going to take to win. We need every single player, including the guys who consider themselves "skill" players to make more hits. It's still a contact game and if we ever make the playoffs we're going to need that to survive. Go Canucks Go!
  18. Good win despite the horrific refereeing (and a few defensive lapses). It's enough to make you want to wave a white towel. At least we got the 2 points. Next. GCG!
  19. Yes it was. And now you're making another one. What was the motive behind your post? It sure seems like you're supporting the attacker instead of trying to help reduce ad hominem. And you're a moderator? Go Canucks Go!
