  1. Trade a known useful player for a 5% chance at one? It's all a gamble but that doesn't seem like a smart one to me. It's a WAY better deal for the Rangers. I still don't get why. Like I said, we've still got games to win this year. GCG!
  2. Why trade him at all if that's all we get? He's a useful member of our team and we've still got games to win this year. GCG!
  3. What a good trade... ... for the Rangers. I don't get it. Isn't our management supposed to improve our team? I guess I can't see the whole picture. And I'm not sure I want to. GCG!
  4. What are the chances of a 3rd round pick making the NHL at all? I don't mean that sarcastically, I mean I don't really know, but I'm guessing that having a young active NHL player is a better bet. GCG!
  5. Yeah, I was going to comment on the same thing. This commentating crew is absolutely terrible. GCG!
  6. Go Canucks Go! Let's not take these guys lightly, they're still an NHL team and we have a long history of letting up in games that we "should win". But if we keep up with the effort, we should win.
  7. Pom poms should be standard issue for just about all TV commentators these days. The concept of being neutral in broadcasting doesn't seem to exist anymore. GCG!
  8. Why, when we're winning without wavering? (WWWWWW) GCG!
  9. Yeah, that always pisses me off about the NHL. Other leagues can start on time, but no, not the NHL. They take their sweet time (of course to pump as much advertising to a captive audience as possible). Shame on the NHL! But Go Canucks Go!
  10. Yeah, but Garland has an extra 50 pounds of attitude. Wilson better keep his head up. GCG!
  11. Go Flightless Birds Go! (yeah, feels weird, but oh well, let's go with it)
  12. I've always been fascinated by this question. It seems obvious that starting with the puck would be better than not starting with the puck. Every casual fan and every expert seem to agree that face-offs are important. And yet there is one little oft forgotten detail: face off winning percentages don't correlate very strongly, if at all, with winning. Meaning that they aren't actually all that important. I don't get it. I can't explain. It's just weird. GCG!
  13. Thanks for getting the ball rolling but maybe correct the date to Friday, Mar 11th. Go Canucks Go!
  14. True, but if we want to be a good team we have to start winning some of the tough ones. No team in today's NHL is a pushover so we have to learn to give a maximal effort every game. I know that's a new concept for the Canucks but it's what we need to do. I still like our chances. GCG!
  15. I guess you haven't been paying attention. There's still an army of tankers out there posing as Canucks "fans" and they only show up when we lose. They hang out in trade proposal forums wanting to trade away all our good players for picks. There is most definitely a large group of "fans" who have given up on this season. I've been debating with them for months now. Their defeatism is really quite annoying. GCG!
  16. Some Canucks fans are so bipolar they go through both ends of the spectrum during a single game. Maybe a single period. We score a goal and we're going to win the Stanley Cup. If we give one up, we should blow it all up and rebuild from scratch. One good play and the player is the best ever and one mistake and the guy's a bum and needs to be shipped out as soon as possible. Trying to keep up with these roller coaster ups and downs is a bit hard on my aging bones. But anyway, it's fun to win. GCG!
  17. Maybe he wants back in the lineup. That's always a good position for a team to be in: more players than jobs. GCG!
