Elias Pettersson | Quinn Hughes - Contract Discussion Thread
RWMc1 replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in Canucks Talk
You complain about being labelled then go on to label others in the same sentence. If you don't want to be characterized for your negative outlook, then don't do that to those who disagree with you. Take your own advice and be respectful of other peoples viewpoints. -
[Signing] Canucks sign Tucker Poolman

I changed this post afterwards. It was removed and replaced later. You just climbed back on to your high horse without even a comment on Poolman once again. -

Elias Pettersson | Quinn Hughes - Contract Discussion Thread
RWMc1 replied to Bertuzzipunch's topic in Canucks Talk
Podkolzin isn't included in the 22 players listed on the roster. It looks like at least one D-man and 3 forwards will get waived and sent to Abby if they clear. Since Podkolzin's salary is the same as Rathbone, I'm guessing that Rathbone starts in Abby as he isn't waiver eligible yet. I see approximately $19,500,000.oo in space available and more if we start with less than 23 players on the roster -

It was two gifs. One was Will Forte filling a small pool with alcohol and another of him sitting in it with a huge straw. Why do you care about this post in particular with all the other crap going on. Responses like yours add nothing. -
It also avoids an offer sheet scenario, which would fall in the 2nd round category, and it buys time while they're figuring out the Pettersson and Hughes salaries.

It's not controversial, it's just been restated so many times. The discussion degenerates into circular arguments. On and on it goes. -

Thank you. I don't mean to be picayune, but it seemed very arbitrary. -

I don't think that most of the negativity is about Poolman. It's clear that certain posters have an unhealthy obsession with Benning and look for ways to complain. The usual method seems to be If waaaaahhhhhh, then waaaaaahhhhh. In the past waaaaahhhhhh, therefore in the future waaaaaahhhhhh. followed by a wishy washy "if it works out then great" type comment to go back to when they are proven wrong. -

Poolman's base salary this season is $1,250,000.oo with a $500,000.oo signing bonus. It goes up to $2,250,000.oo the following year and is $3,000,000.oo for the final two years. Obviously our management group saw something in him that they liked and see him progressing as a hockey player. But sure, idiots like jd burke know better. -

If someone keeps re-iterating the same point ad nauseam, then at some point it should be considered spamming and the mods should warn that poster. This is a SportsNet site though. I guess they can keep re-spewing the same negative crap endlessly and not have it considering antagonizing or divisive. -

Our idiot media clowns could have asked Benning, at any time, "What do you mean by foundational?" Instead they latch on to one word and use it as a whining point for years. That's one of the many reasons that most fans have no respect for a large segment of our local media. He did his role just fine. Pkers and defensive players are almost always belittled by our "knowledgeable" fans and the idiot media clowns. -
(Prediction) Under Brad Shaw Poolman will be better than Tanev
RWMc1 replied to Arrow 1983's topic in Canucks Talk
Poolman had to recover from shoulder surgery before he could get into the NHL regularly. I think he played it safe for a while and that made him play a better positional game. That has also helped him play a cleaner game avoiding penalties. He has good reach, so he covers a wider area than Tanev. I think Poolman's going start getting more assists because of his line mates. Should be interesting. They're going to have different partners, so it would be hard to make a direct comparison.
