I already addressed that. I guess you missed the Vrbata/Hansen. If you had noticed that then you would see that the lines are pretty much what I wrote. I think people are getting hung up on line numbers. The Sutter line will be used to match up against top lines; therefore the Sutter line will be expected to play big minutes. I also think that Vrbatas defensive play is under-rated.
-
He sat for games early in the season. The 9 games only count for games played apparently. By sitting Virtanen sometimes, we could stretch his nine game look and give him plenty of practice time. Then, if he rounds into form, the decision on whether or not to keep will easier to make.
-
Benning said that he brought Sutter in to be a matchup center. It makes most sense to play him with other good matchup guys. This should take pressure off of Horvat and even the Sedins. My main point was that these players are pretty much locks which leaves two spots for forwards. Virtanen will get a look, but is not a lock.
-
Sedin, Sedin, Burrows Higgins, Sutter, Vrbata/Hansen Baertschi, Horvat, Hansen/Vrbata Prust, Vey, Dorsett Those are the locks. We have room for two more forwards. We all want Virtanen to be one of them. Time will tell if he is physically ready. I think the 14th forward will probably be a center.
-
That would make the most sense. He is a big body and has developed his game to the point where he is almost ready to step in and that would be better than having to call up someone who is not physically ready for the wear and tear of the NHL. Rushing players simply to get younger is not a good strategy.

[Official] Toronto Blue Jays Major League Baseball thread
RWMc1 replied to The Stork's topic in Off-Topic General
Jays will finish behind the Yankees and will lose in a one game elimination. Umps will make sure of it. Strike zone manipulation about to ramp up! -
Something most Pats supporters don't talk about is deflating footballs could have been going on for a long time. They all act as if he got caught on his first time. There is a possibility that deflating footballs had an effect on his perfect regular season where some of those wins were in close games. Asterisk anyone? It's a joke you clowns! I also have an issue with people criticising Lynch for finding a "loophole" whereby he didn't have to answer certain questions during media availability. Yet very little was said about Pats using a "loophole" on the line of scrimmage. One is merely a player who doesn't like media, the other affects the way the game is played and even the tradition of the game.

He doesn't break down fighters. That was my point. He runs away, then taps his opponent more times. It's downright stupid for him to claim to be the best fighter of all time! Poop fights? Moronic!!! I grew up watching actual fighters, not cowardly tap-fighters. Give me Sugar-Ray or the Hitman over The Coward any day.

What are you going on about. Are you saying grammar and spelling are more important than the opinion being expressed? I've lived in Salmon Arm. It does not reflect the diversity of our province. Being Politically Correct is just another way of being a kind and considerate person. I find that most people who whine about being PC are d-bags who wish they could express despicible opinions like they used to.

I like Lack, but he is put on too high of a pedestal in Vancouver. I like Markstrom because of his size. Lack has deflections go right over him while they would hit Markstrom. If Markstrom tightens up his game he could be a top goalie in this League. Also, I have faith in Rollie.

Correct English usage doesn't guarantee a valid opinion. Bad English usage does not negate an opinion. Calling people out on their English while ignoring opinion on a discussion board is despiciable; especially in a multi-cultural province like BC.

Mayweather exemplifies whats wrong with the "sport of boxing". He is a coward who has evaded any true competitors his entire carreer. He should have fought Pacman long, long time ago. To me, the downfall of boxing started with the change in Olympic boxing rules. They started rewarding the "fighters" who ran away and then tapped their opponents more. Coward boxing was born. Mayweather is a product of that way of boxing. All he does is run away then tap, tap, tap. Count the taps. That is the main reason that I no longer enjoy watching boxing matches. Present boxing is to past boxing what ringette is to hockey ; A pale reflection.

So, the message is that Translink is so bad that people should not only expect breakdowns and delays regularly, they should make alternative plans. Vote no in that case!!!!!

The scary part is that it is only a matter of time that a massive earthquake hits our area. I imagine that aid will be required by those unfortunate people. Help if you can. That may eventually be us.

A couple of inches and around 40 lbs is the deciding factor. I was happy with the pick simply because I've been a fan for decades and I've seen many skilled smaller forwards come and go. We need size and skill not just skill. We've gone down that road before.
-
Yeah. I was way off there. I for some reason thought that he was a center. I also thought that Virtanen was on the bubble before the WJs started. I need sleep!!!!
-
I wonder if Benning knew that Virtanen was a close call and made sure that he had a spot by holding Horvat on the big club? Maybe he thought that Horvat already has a taste of the WJs and now it's Virtanens turn.

If you want to get technical, then the decision was made by Linden, Benning, and DesJardin.

The loan period for the WJ's is from the 12th to the 18th. Has anyone heard anything on this? I'm thinking that it could go either way now! We may need him at C. They have Gaunce on Lw now.
-
It seems like Benning is aware of our LW depth issues. He has converted Matthias to LW and it looks like Gaunce is getting the same trearment. I thought that Gaunce could cover for Horvat if he were to be sent to the WJ's. Now it looks like Bo could stay with the big club instead of being loaned. We'll find out in a few days.
-
Good for Bo. He was on the bubble and he found a way to stick with the big club. Apparently Linden had a talk with him and told him not to worry about the 9 game window. He told him to just play his game. He responded with a very good game against Anaheim and a great game against Chicago. Benning said that he was game to game and those two games were the difference. He wasn't gifted a spot, he earned it. Wow! I've been wrong more times this season than all of last season. Maybe that's a good thing. I thought that Sestito would start over Vey. I thought that Richardson would be our 4th line center and Matthias would be our 3rd. I also thought that the Juniors window was on the 2nd rather than the 12th. I still think he will go the World Juniors. I don't count Bo staying as being wrong because I predicted in the pre-season that he would be given 9 games to try and stick.

There are a few factors that Management is taking into consideration that most fans do not. We could get a cheaper bridge deal but the next contract is the ?. If the economy goes very far up or down we may over-pay and be stuck with an onerous contract or we may get him for cheaper in the long run. Another big one is by burning a year off of his ELC he becomes a UFA one season earlier. That could also come back to bite us in the butt later. These are the main reasons that I think he will be loaned to the Junior program before a decision is made. I don't really understand why people take a difference of opinion so seriously. I don't hate the kid, I just think that Benning is looking at the long term as well as the short term.
-
Yes and you also said that you don't ignore the points other people are making. You then immediately ignore the points that I made. That is what I am going on about.
-
So you disagree with the fact that Linden, Benning, and Desjardin all stated that they would like Bo to have the World Junior experience? Do you also disagree with the fact that Horvat is already listed on the World Junior roster? Or are just another liar?
-
You seem to ignore many valid points that are being made. Congratulations on your hypocrisy!
