Could never learn to finish the final row and face, I learned to complete the top side and around 2 rows for each of the other faces but the bottom was quite the mess.

I still use the beginner's method. My best time with that method (years ago) was 24 seconds. With my best speed cube (which isn't super high end) I can average about 50 seconds

      That's fast for beginner's method!

  3. If the yearbook had student editors, they may not have even known what Mein Kampf is.
  4. If Nugent-Hopkins goes to free agency, I hope the Canucks make a strong pitch. I think it would be great for the Canucks to have him as a 3rd line center. Though, it will be tough to swing, cap-wise.

he already said no to 6x6 from edmonton.  don't wanna pay him more.

He’ll get way too much money and term for his worth in Free Agency. Big Nope

He’s not exactly the type of player I’d want as our 3C. As our 1st or 2nd line LW I’d think about it.

  5. I will also add another vote for "Tears in Heaven".
  6. Hopefully Demko's sentiments resonate with ownership and management...

Nothe season is officially over, is Clarke free to sign elsewhere?  Hopefully we get an announcement soon that Clarke (and Green too) is signed up for another few years.

Personally, I'd be offering a big chunk of my salary to Clarke under the table to stay if I was Demko.

  7. Can anyone explain why Seattle gets the 3rd spot in the draft lottery?

^ Yeah but it would have been fair to just give them the last pick in the first round that way they aren't screwing other teams over.

originally when the Vegas expansion process began they had 3rd overall odds for 3 years regardless of where they finished but they changed that sometime between then and awarding vegas the franchise

  8. That's a bold prediction on Seattle considering they have just one player signed in the entire organization.
  9. NBC SPORTS BAY AREA: Gordie Howe’s family presented San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Marleau with a stick from Howe’s 1,767th and final NHL game. The stick was in the Hockey Hall of Fame and will be replaced by one of Marleau’s from his record-breaking 1,768th game. The Howe family requested the Hall remove Gordie’s stick and present it to Marleau. SPECTOR’S NOTE: A classy gesture by the Howe family. Pure class!
  10. Everyone knows Jim is great at drafting. Many believe he has made some questionable trades and free agent signings. Instead of all this fan polarization of "We love Benning" or "Fire Benning", why not just hire a complementary assistant GM equiped to deal with the areas where JB may fall short? Or is this too logical for an emotional fanbase?

One thing the NHL probably does get...a massive jump in viewership for the Rags/Caps game tonight.

Intentionally lowered DoPS reaction for extra attention across the continent.

  14. So Tryamkin signed a two year extension with his team in the KHL. So much for that return story.

Either that, or his salary demands don't fit in the Canucks' cap.

  16. Canucks' AHL affiliate may move from Utica Robert Esche, president of the Utica Comets, appears to be preparing for a possible change in affiliation. Author of the article: Patrick Johnston Publishing date: Apr 17, 2021 • Last Updated 21 hours ago • 2 minute read It’s not a done deal, but there’s a chance the Utica Comets may not be affiliated with the Vancouver Canucks in 2021-22. Comets president Robert Esche registered “Utica Devils” as a trademark with the U.S. government’s Trademark and Patent Office earlier this month, a step that suggests he’s preparing for the possibility his Utica, N.Y.-based team will change NHL parent clubs ahead of next season. “I’m not aware of any information regarding this,” a spokesperson for the Utica Comets said in an email. Saturday morning, the Binghamton (N.Y.) Devils confirmed to WBNG-TV that their NHL parent club, the New Jersey Devils, would be moving their AHL team to a new city ahead of the 2021-22 season. The Canucks’ current six-year deal with the Comets, which began with the 2019-20 season, features an opt-out clause after the current season. The Canucks would have to exercise the option to leave Utica for the Devils to take over. The AHL’s board of governors would have final say on a relocation but it’s unlikely they would turn down a move. And while far-flung teams like the St. John’s Growlers once subsidized opposing teams to travel to play them — St. John’s and Charlotte were the last two teams to do so — that practice has been prohibited by the AHL board. The Comets have been a dual affiliation this season between the Canucks and the St. Louis Blues, due to COVID-19 border controls. The Canucks kept a number of players on their taxi squad who would normally be assigned outright to the AHL and also loaned several players to Canadian-based AHL teams so they wouldn’t have to quarantine as long if they were to be recalled. Since first joining up in the 2013-14 season, the Canucks have taken care of player and coach salaries, while Esche’s Mohawk Valley Garden Inc. pays for the rest. The Canucks own the actual AHL franchise but the physical team belongs to Esche and his partners, who pay the Canucks an annual fee to operate the franchise. Whether the Canucks would simply switch affiliations to Binghamton, which is about two hours south of Utica, isn’t known and a comment from the Canucks wasn’t yet available. Canucks ownership has expressed interest in using the Abbotsford Centre, which was formerly home to the AHL’s Abbotsford Heat, as a base for their AHL team in the past. A number of NHL teams, including the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers, have moved their AHL teams to California in recent years. They also might look at the Pacific Coliseum. The New Jersey Devils based their AHL affiliate in Utica from 1987 to 1993 and that team was called the Utica Devils. https://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/nhl/vancouver-canucks/canucks-ahl-affiliate-may-move-from-utica/wcm/d664920c-d04e-460c-bf13-916ee426e207/amp/

  18. I, for one, am happy the game was postponed. I would hate to see any kid jepordize their career by coming back too quickly from serious illness. Unfortunately, I don't think the delay will be long enough.

Couldn't agree more, although it terrifies me to think of how bad the guys must be doing in order to get a league that does not care about player safety to do the right thing.

  20. Health first! Of these kids AND their families! No shame in wherever they choose to end the season. But I know, that even while sick, the competitive nature of professional athletes will still rise to the forefront. While still in mathematical striking distance of a playoff spot, there is no way some players aren't still thinking about the remote possibility, even if they should be thinking about rest and recovery.
  21. THE SCORE: Roberto Luongo is expected to be named general manager of Team Canada’s 2021 World Championship team.
