My prediction: nothing major will happen for the Canucks tomorrow, and certain portions of the "fan"-base will be in an uproar!

Although the general rule is not to divert traffic away from the site, I'd double check with stealth for something like this because maybe exceptions could be made for such a good cause?
Sorry I don't have a more definitive answer...my gut says it's fine but the final word should come from the big boss.

Well, someone somewhere succeeded at dividing sports fans while posing as a movement for solidarity.

What I really loved with sports players reacting to racism issues was both teams' entire rosters intermingled with each other, on both sides of the ice (or field) for the anthems.
To me, that had far more of an [EDIT: positive] emotional impact than teams or players looking like they just want to say, "I'm taking my ball (or puck) and going home."

While I wholeheatedly support the BLM movement, what precedent is set by stopping all sports when an issue like this comes up? There are several other social issues that are just as important. For example, child kidnapping and people trafficking, sexual abuse and related oppression, epidemic levels of drug overdose, local poverty and starvation, and these are just a few local issues. Go international and the number of issues explodes exponentially! Does this mean that sports should boycott games for each and every child abducted? or each person who dies from an overdoes on tainted drugs? for any person who is raped or sexually abused? All of the issues are just as deserving of the support. We would never have professional sports again, in my opinion, if boycotts are to be used with the same level discretion.

I find it to be the definition of entitlement when people become perturbed to enraged over popular public figures taking a stand for what they believe may garner attention for their cause and/or community.
Aladeen is right, and for the most part I have no points to refute. Slavery has very much evolved and in the form of incarceration is enshrined within the 13th amendment. Of course, that's only 1 rung on the ladder of oppression and I certainly do not have all the answers or any of the power, but this public discourse is long overdue and the attention that baseball and basketball received today will help drive the discussion in hopefully a positive direction that is more than empty words.
People who lose their evening entertainment show their true colours with their reaction to an oppressed people's desire to do more than have their voice merely heard and ignored for the umpteenth time, but who also desire some semblance of action as a result of it.

I believe @Drive-By Body Pierce makes valid points though. All of those issues he mentioned, particularly human trafficking, is an on-going issue. In fact, modern day feudalism, which could be interpreted as slavery, exists. There is also disproportionate amount of inequality in many countries, a lot of which is attributed to widespread corruption. If we are going to attribute "boycotting" as a nuclear option, then there is nowhere to go after that. The initial 'shock' of it is gone. It's the same thing as unions threatening to strike and how this usually just plays out over a longer period of time than intended. Too many times do we resort to the 'nuclear' option rather than finding more meaningful ways to come up with solutions.
And to those who don't care about sports, what is boycotting going to do for them? Nothing.

So I have noticed there hasn't been much direct coverage with Mr. Kyle Dubas... think he might be burried in a dessert somewhere???
-
Either
a) he's MIA, trying to figure out why spending half the cap on 4 forwards didn't = cup.
b) no one's asked him any questions because they know he doesn't have any answers, and the Toronto-centric media doesn't wanna embarrass their golden boy math wiz GM.
or, ya know... both...
F&$% the Leafs, f&%$ Dubas, f&%$ the "Shannaplan"
