He is not playing for a contract. He is playing to win. His solid D play with Myers allows Hughes to take that role. I really want to see this team in the playoffs. This team is a lot better than everyone keeps saying We have holes. I also think he will start putting up numbers as he is getting close and the forwards have been snake bit.

OEL has a better shot than Hughes but is just unlucky with the points (Hughes has a better pass and overall offensive game though). it's kinda funny to see OEL and Myers evolve into Defensive players coming from offensive pedigrees.
I think both OEL and Myers are just glad they don't have to be "the guy" anymore with Hughes taking that role and they just want to win.
