Vancouver businessman Amar Doman purchased the BC Lions, reports TSN's Farhan Lalji.
The Lions are holding a news conference Wednesday for a "major announcement," according to TSN's Dave Naylor.
Doman reportedly takes over ownership of the franchise from David Braley's estate. Braley bought the Lions in 1997 and held the team until he died in October 2020. He began seeking potential buyers before his death.
Doman owns the Futura Corporation, an asset management and investment firm. He also has around three decades of experience in the lumber and building industry.
The Lions have won six Grey Cups and were most recently crowned champions in 2011. However, declining attendance has led to concerns about the future of the club.
