Hahaha ya i bet Quinn and the coaching staff are amazed at how AV has said Welly is more solid defensively these days and everything...although you still don't see him on the pp though he's great at protecting the puck and clearling the zone with his small stick.

Appreciate the info....the very few games Leaf games i ever watched with Wellwood as Mats winger, i didnt recall him on the PK, and i do remember him being quite the traditional winger (meaning not defensively responsible).

Its actually impressive that he is coachable enough to actually add to his game now.

Hey, to answer your question, Wellwood was never on the Leafs PK...God forbid Quinn or Maurice put him on the ice a man short, b/c that there is a defensive liability...of course, with the Canucks his role changed and it's not so scary seeing him with the puck in a defensive position.
