  1. It's a good fit 4 him u would think. Still close(ish) to LA and his wife, and will be given the opportunity to play a big role in a world class organization. Sure hope he plays well and sees it the same way.
  2. Eeeash. Ya that's not great news. At least it's not that far away though. Lots of players play in different cities then their significant others live and fly back and forth . Only a 3 hour flight to LA from here . Not sure LA would resign him anyways.
  3. Yes , i meant to add this when moving him to wing came up. There was talk about moving him to the wing when he was drafted , which was pre- podkolzin. A this talk of us needing size and pushback, yet some are suggesting a 150 pound centre was a bad trade piece for Toffoli?
  4. Not really. Who's to say he wants to? Don't forget he is a college player that could have walked for nothing eventually if he didn't see a fit here .
  5. A prospect that could very well be at his peak value , and all our young players are still mostly on ELC's. I have absolutely no issues personally with Benning giving these kids a legit shot at playoffs, and moving out a kid who would probably have never played here, and a pick that, if Benning feels is worth it , can be recouped with moving other players that are deemed expendable after the playoff push. That's my opinion. Yes , i would love to have kept both the pick, and Madden, but we got a great winger in return that , to me , is well worth the price at this point in time.
  6. I am a Madden fan, but not as a replacement for Adam Gaudette. I hate to see the kid go, but again, if it was a poker hand , the odds the kid would have replaced any of our top three centres in this decade was practically 7 2 off suit
  7. Again, where would Madden have played Alf. Who would u like to have seen him replace exactly? Seriously, u don't think Madden and his agent might have been nervous we already have 3 young core centers? Explain where u think Madden would have become a full time centre on our roster. It's more like " who will be better in three years , Gaudette or Madden". That is what the organization was asking themselves .The fact u don't see that sort of baffles me .
  8. Not to mention the fact we have 3 legit, young core centres already. Madden didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of beat out Gaudette for the third line centre position, and he sure as hell would not be bumping Bo . So where would he have played ? Keep him in case we need a stop gap if one of those guys gets injured instead of Toffoli? Anyone think Madden would be willing to be a secind/ third line centre backup? There is ZERO chance that would have worked out IMO.
  9. Im sure they are confident they can re sign him. Who knows , maybe there was more to moving Madden then we think. Even if there isn't, Toffoli is a very good addition.
  10. Or is not convinced ferland will ever bolster our top 6. Toffoli is an awesome pickup, and the more i have thought about this, Madden is an acceptable causality for him. We have enough depth to make this trade a win.
  11. No very true. Do like the player. Could work out just fine , just a bit of a shock to the system. I think he will fit in well here. I was just a Madden fan is all, but at least we have a known quantity in Toffoli. Given a change of scenery, he may even be better then we anticipate, like Miller has been. I do trust Jims judgment for the most part.
  12. Wow!!!!!!!! We have no first or second round pics , and probably just traded a hobey baker finalist ontop of this? Big time risk JB. Sure hope this works out .
