Forward group is fine so far THIS YEAR. Too bad there is more than 2 lines to a hockey team. We have a decent third line center because he scores , but he isn't an elite third line center becsuse he's doing what what an elite third line center should be doing. Our fan base is still talking about the first overall pick each year like it's a realistic possibility.......and it is. That should be more than freakin embarrassing by now. You have to have players that have skills to play defense to have a successful " defensive system". They have a f'n defensive system , they just don't have enough of the right type of players that know how to, or are willing to play within in . It's a horribly constructed team.

If you constantly have to watch the standings every week to see if your team is mathematically in it , your team is not a Stanley cup contender. For the first time in 25 years , I haven't watched a single game live. That's saying allot if you knew me. Lol. Haven't even watched a single game through 3 periods on TV this year, and I used to take the day off work to watch the draft 8 years in a row ! This city deserves better.

The Canucks are nowhere near a Stanley cup. They are barley in consideration to to anything but fluke their way into a playoff round or two for the foreseeable future. The ENTIRE defense aside from Hughes needed to be figured out before working on the forward group. They don't even seem to be making that a priority now. It's hilarious. I don't mean a change or two, I mean 5 of the 6 need to be completely removed and replaced with completely different players, and completely different types of players. Honestly, the circus went on for so long with Jim Benning, I have no confidence whatsoever they know what to do now. I think everyone was so shocked during that time with so many moves ( and non moves ), people thought there was some crazy magic plan was would be revealed at some point. There was no other explanation. Turns out they were just incompetent. It's wasn't just a short experiment that didn't work. It's went on, and on, and on. Now we see the plan was the " day to day plan". This is what we waited for ? Are they serious?
