  1. It didn't really work for Jensen but is there a European option?
  2. +1. I watched the leafs, habs game, nylander was in hard on the puck in the corners a lot, but yeah he doesn't lay anyone out. But his puck retrieval is very good. Some on here saying he is soft are off the mark I think. Buut nylander did make more than a few miscues with his passing as jake was criticized for, so no one player far superior just yet.

i agree, he uses his size to get and keep possession of the puck, which is more important in some respects.
  4. reminds me of vlad sbotka.
  5. played well today , nice skater. Cant wait to see him progress once he fills out that 6'2 frame.
  6. I think he needs to do more off the puck. When he turns on the jets obviously he is awesome, but imagine how effective he could be if he was using those skills better to lift sticks, get in passing lanes. I love his hitting game but I'd like a few more take ways too. He is a 'young' 19 yr old right? That plus his missing all that time with injury would impact his perceived hockey iq.
  7. that's Mr schumway to you.
  8. i think what we can all agree on is that we would like to see every player, (bar maybe Sbisa) play an exhibition game with the twins.
  9. so what if for 4th line winger you have greinier and virtanen, if you get basically the same points for example, which one is better for the club? im not sure, virt you get NHL coaching, an 'easing' into NHL via the 4th line. Whereas maybe you showcase Greinier and you trade him later for another asset, knowing you have Virt waiting to come in next season.
  10. he skates pretty well with the puck for a big unit. thanks for the highlights!!
  11. who plays center? I have wondered what Henrik would be like as a winger as he gets older.
  12. bummer cross fingers his team makes the Spengler cup then.
  13. any chance we see him in any international tournaments this year?
  14. He didn't play much last year though did he? Anyone watch his games? I have only seen those world junior games form a year or so ago.
  15. If benning had of known what he had in Horvat do you think he still trades for Vey?
  16. Just as a hypothetical....i think it would be cool if Virtannen applied his skillset to D instead of forward. His speed, shot, hitting would all suit the position. His passing is good when he sees a lot of the ice and his skating is great when he has a bit of room to wind it up.
  17. And as he was 'micd up' I guess he has to say something. Kinda tough from sidelines.
  18. I give my opinion on here quite a bit. I have no credentials. But it is a hockey forum isn't it?
  19. How wpuld you compare him to sboktka?
  20. Does the description of brisebois kinda remind you of someone? I think tanev might finally have someone to share his cigarettes with on the back end.

^so they sometimes have to sit vets instead of prospects to make up the right ratio?

does the AHL have a rule about playing a certain amount of veterans and rookies/prospects per game or something?
  23. I wonder if we could have waited till after training camp next year to see what we have? Then make the trade for Sven. But yeah the risk looks good. I just wonder if we had never of gotten vey. We could of had santorelli or maybe sbotka and be in the same place points wise heading into the playoffs but with some 2nd rounders.
  24. Do you think we have enough time to turn him into a player? Especially since we have a similar guy in vey?

Let's not forget zalewski, he has looked pretty good since his getting scratched a few times earlier in the year. Gaunce and he look pretty tenacious on the fore check and getting involved in some effective cycling.
