  1. The one before was a very weak call. Can’t fight you on that. But regardless of that call the penalty on Fantenberg was legit
  2. Vancouver doesn’t have a 1st or a 2nd in this years draft. Yes, you can definitely get a very good D in the 3rd round or later, but whoever they draft will be a long term project.
  3. Tryamkin’s rights are pretty much worthless. He’s signed in the KHL this season. The next NHL season won’t start until Dec and likely won’t end before his rights expire in August.
  4. So getting back to my question. Look at it from the other teams perspective. Realistically, what in those two lists would interest Pittsburgh enough to move the 15th OA so Vancouver can draft Schneider? (As an example). They already made the decision to keep this years pick rather than giving it up as part of a previous trade condition. So why would they move it for what amounts to spare parts from Vancouver? (Not saying there’s no quality there, but if those pieces can’t help the Canucks right now, why would you assume they’d interest Pittsburgh?). My point is that with the exception of the trade deadline, it’s difficult to pick up a high pick in the draft at or near the draft.
  5. So who does Vancouver move in order to get a 1st? Vancouver doesn’t have a 2nd this year either. So expecting to pick up a prime D prospect in the draft this year is a bit of fantasy
  6. He’s a pending UFA. This topic won’t go away until he signs somewhere in free agency
  7. AV still whining about Muller putting out Montreal’s top PP unit late in the game. Lol.
  8. Why is Edmonton paying a premium for the rights to a UFA? (Answer, they’re not)
  9. The Sens have Hoberg. Demko hadn’t proven much more then Hoberg has so I doubt they’d move last years 19th OA pick for a redundant player
  10. Pronman on the Athletic had him at 13 yesterday. NHL.com had him around 15th draftsite has him at 11 yesterday sports net had him at 12 TSN didn’t have him in the top 15 yesterday it’s anyone’s guess where he actually goes. But there seems to be a consensus that he goes mid to low teens.
  11. Most mock drafts Ive seen have Schneider going between 10th and 13th. I doubt any of your suggestions would interest the teams in that range
  12. Montreal sure got a beauty in the Paccioretty trade. Suzuki looking like the real deal
  13. That’s the way it should play out. The league would look so bad if the Pens got 1st OA just as they’re two most recent generational players are starting to slow down I’s be furious if the team that finished the season in 7th ended up with 1st OA
  14. According to Cap Friendly Pettersson requires protection. Hughes is still showing as exempt though
  15. His contract is guaranteed for another 3 years. He’s going to collect on the remaining $9.5m
  16. If that’s the case explain to me why neither Nathan Horton nor David Clarkson have officially retired? They are both still on the Leafs roster as LTIR despite not playing for years. btw. I was responding to people who expect that he will retire and his cap hit will disappear.
  17. Yes and no. It’s not as simple as freeing up $3.5m in cap space. They’d still need to work around it to be cap compliant with his cap hit on the books when the season starts.
  18. Why would he even consider retiring? If his health forced him off the ice he can not play but collect $9.5m over the next 3 years. Or not play and collect his basic pension. (Which will not be $3+m a year.). Which option would you choose?
  19. A well rested Price is no joke. They ride him for 65 games a year then can’t figure out why he runs out of gas by the end of the season.
