  1. Juulsen is a pending UFA. He may not even be back with the club
  2. I don’t think so. I actually thought he’d test free agency last year but he ended up staying. I feel like there’s probably limited interest in him and he’ll re-up sometime this summer
  3. Doesn’t make it not true. They had more wins in fewer games without the benefit of the loser point or the shootout. Plus they actually won the cup (plus a number of individual awards)
  4. Absolutely. But he was already off the crutches before the season ended. To the best of my knowledge there’s been no suggestion that he won’t be ready to at the start of the season.
  5. He has another 5 months. It’s unlikely he starts the season on LTIR
  6. 2 way contract has nothing to do with waiver eligibility. It just dictates what a player earns based on where he plays. And to answer your question. No. He’s no longer waiver exempt.
  7. He was close to returning at the end of the season. There’s no reason to suspect he’ll be eligible to go on LTIR when the new season starts up
  8. What’s the incentive for them to accept it though?
  9. Switching the 1st to next year massively downgrades its value. Right now they’d be trading for a known commodity;11th oa). Switching it to next year and adding top 10 protection all but guarantees they’ll get a worse pick in what projects to be a worse draft.
  10. Except that isn’t allowed in the CBA and the NHLPA will never accept that being part of the CBA
  11. Why would a team doing a complete tear down want a 26 year old winger with an expensive contract that doesn’t save them any real dollars compared to cap dollars?
  12. What his contract MIGHT have looked like is meaningless. Once his bonus is paid it does become an attractive contract to a team wanting to reach the cap floor. The problem is the timing of that bonus. I don’t know how many teams are going to wait until September to address their rosters to the tune of $6m. It’s going to be interesting watching how it plays out
  13. Never heard of Trevling. Any relation to Brad Treliving?
  14. I don’t really see the point of this from Arizona’s side
  15. You’re over complicating things. Currently Vancouver has 19 players signed for 23/24 with a combined cap hit of $85.2m. That’s including Poolman and Pearson. The cap is expected to be $83.5m. Assuming neither guy will play at all in 2023/24 means they could exceed the cap by $5.75m. So $89.25m. That leaves Vancouver with a roster of 17 players and $4m to fill 4 slots. It’s going to take some moves to free some cap space to sign anything other than guys making league minimum
  16. I think it’s premature to assume Pearson will miss another full season.
  17. He’s no better than the Staals, Reimer or Provorov. Just another douchebag who chose to put his own agenda ahead of literally doing the least he could do.
  18. Congrats to Sean Farrell on his first career goal (on his first shot at Bell Centre)
