  1. I don’t think you can speak in absolutes like that. We’ve seen players waive their NMC’s time and time again. If you find a good fit for the player they’ll consider the move
  2. Vancouver can’t retain on only this year. It has to be for the duration of the current contract AND the extension
  3. He’s been substantially better than than Demko this season. He’s got a .913 save percentage and 3.13 gaa. He’s also ranked 16th in goals saved above expected per 60 Demko is a giant question mark right now. Beyond his injury issues His save percentage is .884. His goals against is 3.93 and he’s ranked 56th in goals saved above expected per 60 They can re-examine their goaltending over the summer
  4. Cool. I didn’t give the interview. Tryamkin did. Is it a big deal for him now? Who knows. My point in posting it was to illustrate Tryamkin wasn’t just unhappy with the old regime. (As was suggested by another poster) He and his wife weren’t t happy in Vancouver.
  5. You can take exception with his opinion if you like, but he said it. Maybe he just doesn’t like Vancouver. If you felt you were screwed around by the company you worked for and you avd your wife didn’t really like the city woukd you consider going back just because a couple managers were replaced.
  6. He didn’t like the city either. He said it was a drug city and everywhere you go it smelled like weed.
  7. There’s a rule prohibiting the original team from reaquiring a player that was traded with retention toon for a calendar year. The moves in between don’t matter. If Pittsburgh trades him they can’t re-aquire him for a full year if there has been retention on his salary.
  8. You have to wait a full calendar year to trade a player back to the same team if you’ve retained.
  9. Yeah thats the first confirmed answer I’ve seen. Not the answer Vancouver fans were looking for but at least it gives some much needed clarity
  10. Not sure if anyone has posted this. But this rules out the “retain in this year only” proposals
  11. I disagree. It’s no secret Dubois wants to play for Montreal. Seems like lunacy to give up a 22 year old 2C that they just traded for 7 months ago (who has looked fantastic this year) and a very high 1st for a guy they can get for free if they show some patience.
  12. Why is Montreal selling the farm for a guy they can just wait 1 year for and sign for free?
  13. I absolutely love this based entirely on the fact that some Rangers fans thought this guy was going to return a 1st round pick or a 2nd and a blue chip prospect. Lol. Their tears are going to be delicious
  14. I’m suggesting that PLD might just take a 1 year deal (no matter where he is) then bolt to Montreal the following season when he hits UFA
  15. I don’t think he’s ruled out extending long term in Winnipeg, especially with the season he’s having. That said if he doesn’t there are still a lot of rumblings over him ending up in Montreal. So I don’t know that paying the price to get him for a year would be worth the risk. Yes. Montreal has Suzuki and Dach. But Dach showed amazing chemistry as a winger with Suzuki and Caufield earlier in the seafront, so I don’t think them being locked up would be a deterrent to him going to Montreal.
  16. Look at the last 2 seasons. Meier 65 goals 62 assists 127 points in 134 games. Boeser 33 goals 50 assists 83 points in 120 games. NHL is a “what have you done for me lately” league. Meier has clearly been the more valuable player
  17. I think Montreal is looking to re-sign Monahan to a cheap contract. He fills a bigger need for them than a $6.65m Boeser (considering they have Caufield and Anderson as their top RW. They also have young guys knocking at the door ready for the NHL. RHP has 7 goals, 10 points in 13 games. They have Farrell who will likely be signing his ELC once the NCAA wraps up. Boeser is too expensive to be of interest to Montreal
  18. Are you under the impression that NHL player contracts can be restructured? They can’t.
  19. It only cost Ottawa a 2nd and a 4th to offload Zaitsev. He has a cap hit of $4.5m for another season. Smith is a pending UFA with a cap hit of $3.1m. It’s not going to cost anywhere near a 2nd to move him in a trade. More likely a 4th. Getting a 1st for Schenn and taking on Smith seems incredibly unlikely
