  1. Montreal has plenty of cap space. Juulsen is expected to make a full recovery. No way they pay a premium to dump Alzner. They’re better off buying him out.
  2. Vegas has no reason to trade two young, productive players signed long term to affordable contracts. You’re not offering anywhere close to the value needed to get one of those players. Let alone both.
  3. That’s not a great deal for Toronto. Take Horton out of the equation as his cap hit doesn’t count once the season starts. That means Toronto arguably give up the 2 best players (Kadri is definitely the best player in the deal. Marleau is arguably the 2nd best). They really only save about $1.5 m in cap and downgrade their team
  4. He made it to my ignore list last week. Lol
  5. I’m ok with the draft lotto as is. It’s designed to keep teams from blatantly tanking.
  6. Yeah. I amended my statement to include the caveat that St Louis would need to be looking to part ways with him. Which I seriously doubt they are.
  7. Would probably take a package like Vegas gave up for Paccioretty to get Schenn. A good top 6 roster player. A top prospect and a 2nd. And that’s assuming the Blues are looking to part ways with him.
  8. He’s a season removed from 59 points. He battled injuries last season. I font think his value can be based JUST on his 31 point season this year.
  9. Still seems like way to much for Montreal to pay. I suspect they’d rather stay where they are. There will be a number of solid players available at 15 and they get to keep their two mid 2nds. Timmins has done well in the last couple drafts finding gems later in the draft. Romanov at 38 last year looks like a steal, Mete at 100 in 2016.
  10. Seems like overpayment on Montreal’s side. 2 mid 2nd’s is too much to pay to move up from 15 to 10. There doesn’t seem to be a huge difference in quality of players available at 10 or 15. The only incentive is having more of a chance at their first choice.
  11. You can call him whatever you want. But he’s not a top 10 goal scorer until he is. Will he get there? Maybe. But he’s not there yet.
  12. Since when is Boeser a top 10 goal scorer? He’s a helluva player. But he was 69th in goal scoring this past season with 26 goals. 25 behind Ovechkins 51. Last season he was 35th in goal scoring. Im not defending the proposal at all. But you’re seriously overstating Boesers stature. Maybe he’ll get into that stratosphere, especially if he can manage to stay healthy, but as of right now he’s nowhere near top 10
  13. Higgins was good for close to 40 points a season. And even had a 27 goal/52 poor season in Montreal. I doubt Motte Achieves that sort of production.
  14. I don’t see a problem with your valuations. The fly in the ointment for Tampa is Callahan’s M-NTC. I don’t see him waiving to go from a high powered cup contender with low/no state tax to come to a bottom feeder rebuilding team with much higher taxation.
  15. Even buying him out in his final season leaves a $4m cap hit for that season and a $1m cap hit for the following season.
  16. Rutherford has already traded away Sutter twice. I suspect he doesn’t like the player. Also, Goldobin is the type of prospect that every team already has. That’s not a package that would interest Pittsburgh
  17. I’m not sure there’s a GM in the league that is trading away a 1st for a return that is 3 years away (plus development time). Most gm’s don’t have that sort of long term shelf life.
  18. There isn’t a chance in hell that Virtanen fetches Ristolanen.
  19. I stand corrected. Although you can lose the condescending attitude.
  20. Actually, it’s not. Rutherford is the GM who has traded Sutter away not once, but twice. Once when he was GM if Carolina and again when he traded Sutter from Pittsburgh to Vancouver.
  21. Who would that have been? Let’s see a list of the trades. You’re essentially suggesting a team turned over their entire roster in one season. I think you’re mistaken
  22. Like I said. A ppg player for a washed up D doesn’t make sense no matter how you try to spin it. It’s an AWFUL deal for Pittsburgh
  23. A point per game forward for a slow washes up D does not make sense. No matter how you try to spin it.
