  1. They got him as a major part of the Seth jones deal. I can’t see them having any interest in moving him
  2. Nothing has come together though. Show me one instance where a legitimate hockey insider or reporter has suggested that Lafreniere is available. Let alone for Miller.
  3. So how about an outcome where he is traded this deadline for less than that deal
  4. Be prepared to be disappointed if that’s the minimum acceptable deal in your eyes.
  5. Interesting that they’d hire the AGM before a GM. You’d think the GM would want some input on the AGM he works with
  6. The flaw in your plan is Vancouver isn’t actually paying Luongo anything
  7. Yeah. That’s fine. That’s doesn’t mean that’s the price they’ll be willing to pay. It’s fun for fans to speculate and try to justify. But the bottom line is you just don’t see players of Lafreniere’s pedigree traded so soon after being drafted unless you fet a situation like Lindros or Fox where the player manages to force the move
  8. Thing is. Lafreniere was a 1st OA just a year and a half ago. Teams don’t give up on that sort of potential that quickly. He just turned 20. Most players his age haven’t even seen NHL action yet. I don’t see the rangers giving him away for what amounts to a season and a half rental player.
  9. It’s definitely an interesting idea. I don’t personally think Miller will net that kind of return. Just getting Schneider + a pick would be a win. But if they could pull it off it sets up a potential windfall
  10. It’s interesting from a Montreal standpoint because you made it a 2023 1st with top 3 protection. Ensuring they don’t miss out on Bedard. I’m personally not high on Lafreniere and Norlinder is a very good prospect. But I think I’d still pull the trigger as a Montreal fan. I can’t say the same would be true if it was a 2022 draft pick though.
  11. With 42 games left in a compressed schedule with 7 back to backs left I expect the backup to get more than 5 starts. I’d guess 10+. Then factor in possible COVID games missed. I guarantee you the backup sees more then 5 starts
  12. Vancouver has several spare NHL starting goalies? Good to know
  13. I have no interest in trying to fix the oilers. Just pointing out that not trading them Halak is hardly the back breaker for them
  14. Always loved Gilles. Those islander teams in the 80’s were something else
  15. Are you under the impression that Halak is the only possible goalie they could trade for? Edmonton needs a starter, not a backup. Halak is likely down the list of guys they’re looking at
  16. Halak has a full NMC, ultimately he decides if and where he’s willing to be traded
  17. Montreal has zero need for Depietro. They have Primeau, who is a highly touted young goalie.
  18. To be fair. Structuring the deal like that was likely the inky way to sign Halak this year. They didn’t have the cap space to just give him the $3m outright. Halak did the team a favour by accepting the easily attained bonus laden contract. People should try to remember that
  19. It’s already been confirmed that Darche had an interview.
  20. You’re aiming to high. Theodore is about as untouchable as players come.
