  1. Yes. I’m sure he’s in hell living in Florida and working for a Stanley cup contender.
  2. Bottom line is Miller had his stick between their legs both times. It’s a penalty whether you like it or not
  3. Not surprising given Montreal is currently missing Petry, Edmundson, Niku, Romanov, and Weber
  4. Not sure why San Jose considers that. Right now they have $5.85m of dead cap space in Kane. You want then to retain $3.5m on Kane and take two bad contracts in Poolmsn and Pearson. That totals $9.25m of cap and doesn’t really improve their team. Plus they lose a couple young cheap prospects. Montreal hangs up the phone immediately. First off you may want to look into who’s the GM of Montreal. Secondly Anderson has been Montreal’s best forward this year. He’s only 2 years older than Debrusk, is much better, and doesn’t cost much more. If they ever move him they’ll get a better return than Jake Debrusk
  5. If I’m not mistaken a player can buy out his own contract. It can’t be bought out by the team though. Regardless it’s an option that Tryamkin has neglected to use in the past. He appears to be happy to stay where he is. As is his wife
  6. I was talking about Boeser (if he was traded to Montreal). He’s a pending RFA with a huge qualifying offer
  7. You clearly misunderstand. Tryamkin’s rights are worthless because he’s signed for 2 years in the KHL but his rights expire this coming summer. Debrusk is an upcoming RFA. Not UFA. So no. He can’t just walk and sign with whatever team he chooses (unless they don’t qualify him)
  8. Or, they can just move Toffoli for a high end prospect or picks and fully embrace the rebuild. Boeser isn’t really a piece that fits if they’re going rebuild. If they’re retooling the raise he’s going to require doesn’t fit either. So can we put the Boeser to Montreal discussion to bed?
  9. If he continues to struggle and Montreal doesn’t feel he’d be worth his qualifying offer they could not tender the offer and let him become UFA. Also. They could take him to arbitration but that willl only potentially lower his cap hit by 15%. bottom line us Molson was talking rebuild today and Boeser isnt a good fit if that’s the case
  10. Cool. So I stand by my argument that there isn’t the upside in the deal for Montreal to do it
  11. If your argument is they’re rebuilding and should do it right, acquiring a guy who’s 25 with limited team control left and is potentially due a big raise. Plus, giving up a high pick in the process isn’t the way to do it. They’re better off moving him for a quality prospect or high pick
  12. You can say that. But regardless the risk is still there. Look at the prolonged negotiations with Pettersson and Hughes this summer. I just don’t see the upside to Montreal here when they’re taking all the risk, increasing their cap hit, and losing a high puck to do it
  13. I put him on ignore ages ago. In his opinion every player who’s not a Canuck is a bustaroo
  14. Right. Except my point is 100% fact. If he doesn’t want yo stay in Montreal and they’re not willing to pay him $7.5m then he becomes a free agent. So they lose Toffoli, Kulak and a 2nd for 3/4 of a list season of a struggling Boeser. That qualifying offer presents a lot of risk to Montreal
  15. His qualifying offer is $7.5m. That’s the only thing that’s guaranteed right now. If he wants to play hardball he can.
  16. Toffoli scores just as much as Boeser , doesn’t miss 20 games a season with injury, and doesn’t require a $7.5m offer sheet. And he doesn’t cost Montreal a 2nd
  17. Factor in Boeser’s contract status and cost. And no. They don’t
  18. Not when you factor in the differences between their contracts. No
  19. Montreal passes based on the fact that Toffoli is signed to a very team friendly contract for the next 3 years compared to Boeser who has a $7.5m qualifying offer due after this season. Also Brisebois and Highmore add no value to the deal. Plus you’re expecting them to add a 2nd when Toffoli is putting up similar numbers to Boeser at a discount
  20. I’m sure the new GM will want to wait 3 years for a middling draft pick when they can probably get a 3rd in this years draft from a team looking to add a NHL depth defenceman for a cup run
  21. So literally nothing to Boston in exchange for DeBrusk and a 2nd? Seems legit
  22. I don’t see Montreal having interest in Brisebois. They have a number of exciting young D prospects. If they move Kulak it’ll likely be for a slightly higher pick than you’re offering and forgoing the unimpressive prospect
